So DS (5months) and DD (4 years) have been at a new daycare for just over a month. I have posted before about issues with the teachers in DS’ class. Today is valentines day and they have parties across all classes and gift exchanges for the older kiddos. We decided to use this as a opportunity to give gifts to the teachers in the hopes that they will recognize we appreciate the work and give better care to DS..
In previous daycares we usually only give gifts at xmas and when DD was moving up a class. but this is the first daycare that actually gave us a gift card for parents appreciation day ( it was just $5 starbucks card but still very unexpected) DH and his co workers always refer to this gift giving as bribery because it seems like once you go give a teacher a gift they make more of an effort with your child. DH handled drop off today and said everyone was super nice after he gave them the gift cards and candy. Do you consider it bribery? Do you give daycare teachers gift cards?
