@Mrs. Blue: Just so you can update your list, my POAS date is 7/29!!
I went in for an ultra sound this morning (I'm on Clomid, so I have to go in for one every cycle) and it looks like I have one good, viable follicle

@alison206: At first I was using the cheapies from CVS. Then, when I was having such a hard time figuring out if there were positive I bought some of the smiley face ones (I think clear blue?). What I did was use the cheapie and if I thought it might be positive I then used the digital to confirm. Except I still had no luck because by then I must have already had my surge. It was very frustrating. I think the diborane are so much easier, but for me, it's way to cost prohibitive to buy enough to use every day or twice a day every cycle. I think 7 were $40!
@Jennimac: Sorry I skipped you! I think I have it correct now!
@Bookworm: Yay! Welcome! Several of us are late month POAS-ers, so no worries! The first cycle is so exciting. Good luck!

Well I am still waiting to get crosshairs so my POAS date may need changed. Heres a question though - is it 14 days after O or the day your period is supposed to start?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@alison206: It's whatever you want it to be! My POAS date was always the Saturday after I expected Diablo to show up. Others know that they will test early (around 10-12 DPO) and so their POAS date reflects that.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@alison206: There are stats around somewhere of the likelihood of a BFP (when pregnant) for each dpo. Like 10dpo - 45% of tests are positive, 12dpo, 60% of tests are positive, 14dpo 85%. I just made those up but you get the idea. I try not to test before 12dpo but have never held on later than that!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@alison206: I always put 14 days after since that is when Diablo will start for me. But, I also know I'll probably test before that.

Hello ladies! I took a break from posting last month, but I think that I'm ready to jump back in!
Cycle: Lucky number 17!
POAS Date: August 9
What's been going on?: We're on cycle 3 of the Clomid. If we don't get a BFP this cycle we'll be meeting with our RE in mid-August to discuss the next steps. Still using the CBEFM. No temping because it is way to stressful.
Anything new?: This is the first month that I haven't had a full-time job and full-time grad school, so fingers are crossed that the reduced stress will help. I've got 5 weeks until school starts back up, so the timing is pretty decent. I've also been going to the gym and trying to eat better & add more sleep to my schedule.
Favorite Dessert: Kashi oatmeal & dark chocolate cookies. I have one after dinner because it's better for me than ice cream or pie.

This is our first cycle trying! I'm guessing that my POAS date will be around August 6th, but it could be a bit later depending on when I ovulate (obviously, I guess--but I'm new to all this, so give me some slack! )
Right now I'm waiting to ovulate, and that waiting coupled with my job being out of control are just making the days drag by.
I don't think I could pick a favorite dessert, but I have big plans to make a blueberry-peach crumble pie this weekend!

@PBandBaseball: happy to see you back but I would have preferred you had a BFP instead. Good luck this cycle!!!

@alison206: I just saw on the previous page you said you used the Target OPK's and never got a positive. Were they the cheap ones in the little tube?? I just started TTC this month and used the cheapest ones from Target, and never got a real positive either.
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@MrsCB I did use the cheap ones in the tube. However I ovulated very late so I was out of them before I even got close.

Hi friends-
I've come out of hiding. I feel a little weird even writing this bc it's not like I was on HB for that long but had to take a break after the emotional rollercoaster of a brief chemical pregnancy back in June. No luck this past month either but I wanted to come back and say Hi and let everyone know I've been silently lurking and cheering everyone on in their BFP quest (congrats to those of you that got 'em!)...I was actually referred to an infertility clinic (supposedly one of the best in NYC) by my regular gyno bc of my short LP, so we'll see how that goes (first appt is Aug 1!)....Anyways, I'm not going to add my name to the list but I'll definitely be around this thread, offering support and encouragement!!

@Trailmix: So glad to see you back!! I hope you get some answers at the RE. Sounds like you got in fast, so that is good news. I hope you get your BFP soon!
nectarine / 2152 posts
@Grace Yeah, big downer but...what can ya do? We'll see what happens, I really hope you get a BFP this time!!
@Smurfette Thanks girl, I was sooo happy for you when I saw your news We'll see what the RE says, my gyno said I could wait a few more months if I wanted to, that it was totally possible we'd conceive on our own but I'm tired of worrying about things so off to a specialist we go (but I'm secretly hoping we get it this cycle just bc isn't that the way things always happen?)...

@Trailmix: I would love it to work out that way for you!!!
