@bluestriped bee: I've been quietly following your journey and I am so ECSTATIC for you to see that ! And your numbers are awesome! Congrats!

Ok, so confused with my body! I started BCP last Thursday, at the beginning of my new cycle. The only thing is, the BCP completely stopped up my cycle...I had cramping, but really just red spotting/VERY light bleeding for 4 days. Today, CD 7, and a week into the pill, I am having a very real period. Heavy cramps, need to use tampon, craving chocolate, lol! What the heck?! Is my body just finally shedding everything that it should have shed a week ago? And I wonder if this is going to mess with anything for my ultrasound on Monday?
Here's to hoping that finally shedding my lining will lead to getting the go ahead on Monday and not lead to any weird complications...I'm going to try not to stress about it!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@sarahnicole218: they likely won't be concerned about your lining at the first ultrasound. It's probably just to check and make sure your ovaries are quiet. And you might be on your period at one of your ultrasounds during this process. It's gross, and it sucks, but it's expected.

@bluestriped bee: wooooohoooooooo!!!!! So happy for you!!!! Congrats mama!!!!!!!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@lamariniere: @kentuckygirl: Thank you!!
@sarahnicole218: That's weird. I have no idea. I would call the clinic.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@sarahnicole218: I can't say anything like that has happened to me. Our bodies sure do funky things sometimes on these meds. The u/s should still be fine, they can still check what they need to even if you are bleeding, it just makes it a ton more unpleasant for you.
My doctor said to me this morning that I would probably have to reduce my Gonal dosage by a little based on todays u/s, but she's waiting for bloodwork to make a decision. Did you ladies stay on a constant dosage the entire stim period, or was there usually some adjustment? I'm a little worried just because I've read that it's ideal to be steady the entire time.. :-\
persimmon / 1259 posts
@PurplePumps: Yeah, I don't know...it's weird. But I suppose, like @Leialou: said, the purpose of the ultrasound is to check the ovaries, and whether I'm bleeding or not, she can still see what's going on there. So I'll just keep my fingers crossed that despite how my body is reacting to the BCP, everything still looks good to move forward. Also, Fx for you! I had a friend who had to adjust her dosages during her successful IVF cycle and she ended up with healthy twins!

@PurplePumps: Just chiming in - The last two or so days of my Gonal-F, the doctor reduced my dosage, too. We got lots of eggs and the cycle was successful!

@PurplePumps: My stims were also adjusted during my fresh cycle. I think they want to make sure that your estrogen doesn't get too high (an indicator that Ovarian Hyperstimulation might occur). Reducing the stims if your estrogen is to high I think can improve the quality of the eggs/follicles that are already developing.

@sarahnicole218: @ineebee: @GreenThumb: Thanks for the reassurance. I just heard back from her and she did say to decrease from 150 to 100. 8 follies sized 10-12mm. (I feel like this is going so slow, it was mostly 8-10 on Tue, and I thought growth rate was about 2mm/day.) And E2 at 630. (183 on Tue).
And on a side note, I'm such an idiot for throwing away 100iu of my Gonal the other day!! I had a 900 pen and was doing 150, so I thought, ok, 6 days of that. So after that I threw it out. Then on my new pen, I noticed it said like 1016 for 900 and I asked today and they said, oh yes, they usually overfill it too so you may even get more than the extra 116 and can definitely use it. AAH! I feel so dumb! Thank goodness the second pen will be enough to finish this cycle otherwise my stupidity would have cost me another pen for probably that one extra dose I threw out.

So got my 2nd beta results at 9dp5dt (similar to 14 dPO) and it went from 213 to 584 today!! Woohoo! Continue to grow little one(s)! 3rd beta is on Sunday and first ultrasound on Feb 16th at 5w3d.

@PurplePumps: I totally had mine down-regulated! Fingers and toes crossed for a great cycle!!!

@bluestriped bee: can't wait to hear your us update! My money is on twins!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
So today's 3rd and final beta was 1413! Today is 11dp5dt or 16 DPO. Little one(s) are doing well.
With today's numbers, I'm going to call my OB tomorrow and see when they want me to come in. Other than that, I'll have to wait til the 16th to have my 5 week ultrasound at my RE. Wondering how many sac(s) we'll see.

@bluestriped bee: that sounds really high! Woo hoo! I'm so happy for u! I remember when u said u weren't going the ivf route and now, u r possibly pregnant w twins!!! Sooo exciting!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@tequiero21: yeah, I do remember not considering IVF because of finances (don't exactly know when that was) but it's so exciting that things came through for us and IVF was part of our journey.

@bluestriped bee: Yay! And that sounds like a lot of babies!!!! I won't even remind you what my current singleton numbers were! (But, like you said, there's a huge range.)

Two hours until my u/s to determine if we're moving forward with our hopeful timeline. I have already convinced myself it isn't going to happen this cycle. I had a lot of anxiety about the cost of the meds and not being able to use them soon...but of course, none of them expire for like a year, so it's ok. Waiting sucks, but I keep reminding myself it will be for my own health and the health/viability of our future baby. I'll be sure to update after I find out!

@sarahnicole218: I hope your u/s goes well and you can get started as planned.

@sarahnicole218: Good luck with u.s!
I had another monitoring appt today and I'm a little worried now. First my right side is WAY more active than my left. The right had like 8 or so around 16mm, and the left was tiny in comparison and it's largest was about 12mm I think. Is it normal for one side to just be unresponsive like that? My last cycle, both were responding the same way. And then on top of that it looks like I have a pretty good sized cyst or 2 on my right as well. I think it was like 12-14mm. I've never had a cyst, does anyone know what this means in terms of a transfer or for the rest of this cycle? I tried to turn to dr Google, but only results that showed was cyst already there at the beginning of the cycle, which I did not have. :-\
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@PurplePumps: You said they started you on lower dose stims this time? I wouldn't be worried! Slow and steady... (Also, I only responded on my left side! )
Also: maybe a stupid question...but how can they differentiate a cyst from a follicle when they're that size?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Yea, I was on 150 instead of 225 to start this time. The cyst was completely white vs follicle which was black with just a white outline on the screen.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@PurplePumps: So something other than fluid in the cysts...blood maybe? Use my motto: trust the process. If they stay so small, surely they won't be a problem!
nectarine / 2932 posts
@bluestriped bee: totally missed this last week - but OMG!!! So, so happy for you! Congratulations!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Yeah, I'm keeping my options (?) open for 1-3 babies. My brother says he thinks 4 is in there! I told him to stop that and think lower numbers! What dpt or dpo were you with your beta. I looked back in this thread and saw you were around 1400.
@sarahnicole218: Good luck today!
@PurplePumps: I think most of my eggs were retrieved from one side and only a few on the other side. I had 12 retrieved but only 10 were mature in size. Did the say it was a cyst? When I did my IUIs they thought they were cysts when they were 22 or higher (I think one was 24) and then they checked my e2 levels to make sure it wasn't increasing. One clinic cancelled the IUI cycle (but they didn't check e2), my current clinic would check my e2 levels and they were always ok, so they would proceed with my IUI. I don't know what they do for a transfer, though.
So AFM I'm on my last bottle of progesterone and need to order more. Did anyone call around for PIO and find the cheapest pharmacy? I would normally use WinFertility, but they only have pricing if you buy more than one drug. I could get some estrace but I won't run out til the end of this month. So I'm leaning towards just getting PIO and waiting til I run of estrace before ordering more.. maybe at that point, I'll need some more PIO.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@PurplePumps: my left side responded way better than my right. I think me RE wound up getting 10 eggs from my left and only 3 from my right.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@bluestriped bee: I did after I couldn't get cottonseed oil from the first pharmacy I used anymore. I'm getting sesame oil from Walgreens specialty for $35 a bottle.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Yikes! Blood sounds scarier to me! Ok, trying to just keep calm until my doc calls with todays results. I guess they are relatively small in the cyst world...
@bluestriped bee: @Leialou: Thanks, that makes me feel better about that!
