@Leialou: so I just called WinFertility and asked for 5 bottle of PIO and 30 pills of estrace. They quoted me at $37! What?!? I asked her was that for 5 bottles and estrace med. I told her that usually 1 bottle of PIO is usually $35.
If this is true, that's crazy good price. They can't give me individual prices but that's like $5 a bottle. Insane!!
Ok, my RX refill only says I can get 4 bottles of PIO and I need to get 60 estrace, so I'll have to get another quote but she said the price will be about the same.
Oh, WinFertility places their orders with Walgreens and then Walgreens specialty sends it me.
ETA- oh, it is generic PIO so not sure if the type of oil you need.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes!
I just got home, ultrasound looked great! Because of finally getting a weird late period last week, my lining was thin enough to continue with our cycle. Ovaries looked great, so we're moving forward as planned! Last BCP will be Wednesday and I'll start Follistim on Saturday, Valentines Day (so romantic)! Projected egg retrieval date is February 24-26th.

@bluestriped bee: Actually, my initial labs (200-350ish) were 12dp5dt! Repeat labs (that higher number) were always 1 week later!

@bluestriped bee: Wow, that sounds crazy cheap for any kind of fertility meds. Does it matter if it's name brand vs generic?
@sarahnicole218: Yay! That's great news!
I just got the call back from the my doc. She's holding steady on the dosage and wants me back in to check tomorrow since my E levels shot up like crazy since Friday (600ish to almost 1200 today). I only have 9 follicles over 14mm right now (as compared to 18 last time - ugh, I hate how I cant stop comparing to my only other data point). But I'm trying to tell myself quality over quantity since none of that 18 made it past day 2 so it probably not a good cycle to even compare with. I missed the phone call and she didn't mention anything about the cyst that the other doctor marked this morning. Guess I'll ask about that tomorrow.

@PurplePumps: I don't know. I was always fine with generic. I know they said they can give the best prices because they buy it in bulk. They have been able to save me about 50% off the regular price. I don't know how they do it, but I won't be complaining here. The only drawback is you have to get more than one medication. I don't need estrace right now but the deal is so good that I'll eventually use it.
Oh, I was looking for delestrogen and they didn't have it, so I had to get it from another fertility pharmacy.

I didn't see those spots the doctor had marked as cyst today. I think I'm just driving myself crazy. Looks like retrieval will be Thur or Friday, just waiting for the call again...

@PurplePumps: Woohoo! That's good news! Remind me if this is a fresh or frozen transfer? If frozen, what day will the embryos be?

Question for you all... Do you think having IF for so long changes the way we look at our first trimester? I mean, is it different than someone who hasn't had IF? I get that everyone will be scared and to certain degree based on experience or exposure to m/c.
I personally think it is different for us. I will also say that it can be different even between people with IF.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@bluestriped bee: We'll be doing a fresh transfer.
I absolutely think it's different different for people with IF. I feel like the fear would be amplified for those with IF just based on how hard it was to even get a BFP. I don't want to minimize anyone's m/c or chemical pregnancies, but when it takes 1 or 2 or more years and tons of procedures and money to even see a BFP, and you finally get that ray of sunshine to have it taken away again, I'm sorry, but I feel that's a lot more devastating than someone who has been trying for a few months, who is in the realm of normal TTC timing and can just get pregnant having sex. And in all likelyhood, even with the mc or chem, a "normal" person will still end up with a child in their arms before someone on a long IF journey.

@PurplePumps: So I'm new to the fresh transfer field... when will your transfer be? So excited for you!!
Thank you. I absolutely agree with you. Thanks for explaining your thoughts.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@PurplePumps: I can echo those feelings completely! My best friend and I started trying the exact same day in early 2013. She was pregnant on the first try. That pregnancy ended in a devastating still birth at 23 weeks, and I would never trade my experience for hers. However, she got pregnant again and just had her DS the middle of November and I have yet to even see a BFP...
It is a completely different journey with a very different perspective.

@bluestriped bee: They will be deciding based on how the embies look on day 2 whether they will call for a day 3 or 5 transfer. I'm hoping 5, since that will mean more of them are looking better.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@PurplePumps: So if your retrieval is this week, your transfer will be next week? So cool!

One more dose of Gonal tonight to grow a few more of those 14mm-ish follicles, HCG tomorrow night and then retrieval Friday! And then hold my breath until I get results on how they did. Yikes! I'm getting anxious again now. I think based on last round where over half was poly-spermic, we're doing all ICSI this time.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@PurplePumps: So excited for you!! We did all ICSI.

@PurplePumps: Triggering tomorrow, yay! 9 follicles is a good result, and they may get more eggs, that's quite common. Hoping for a great fertilization report for you this time, leading to lovely embryos and a BFP! Good luck Friday!!!
@bluestriped bee: I think it is different. If you've struggled so much and sacrificed so much to get the BFP, you feel you have so much more to lose than someone who gets pregnant easily. And you're more aware of all the things that can go wrong, so you're always holding back fearful thoughts in the back of your head, even as you're so very excited and happy. And after experiencing a loss, it's hard not to fear another one with each subsequent pregnancy. It sort of steals the joy out of it a bit, even if you fight that.

So my Dr.'s office called today and we moved our timeline up a day! I just took my last BCP! Injections start Friday

@sarahnicole218: let's go!
@PurplePumps: fingers crossed!

@bluestriped bee: I think it totally changes the first tri! You'll be the woman who is grateful for every horrible moment of morning sickness. You'll probably also be more on edge. I know the old saying goes " you can't be a little pregnant", but after all that I went through, I felt like that wasn't true. It's different for you though. You are young and healthy and have two beautiful healthy sticky babies in there who are thriving!
But man, if any of mine were viable I would have cherished every single tough minute and would have been grateful for either sex... As long as babe was healthy!

@sarahnicole218: Excellent! I'll be away in vacation all the time you're stimming, but looking forward to reading some wonderful good news when I return in march! Best wishes for a smooth and fruitful cycle!

@sarahnicole218: @momazon: @Mrs. Jacks: Thank you for your answers! I was trying to discuss this with someone who didn't have IF and I could tell they didn't understand it. Lucky they didn't have to go through IF.

@bluestriped bee: Noticing any symptoms yet?! Can't wait to hear the news from your U/S!!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@GreenThumb: Thanks. Just increased appetite, fatigue (can't get anything done when I get home from work, just fall asleep on the couch), some sore boobs (but nothing bad) and I had some mild nausea on Sunday but I was texting Leialou and she was mentioning her nausea, so it might have been all in my head. I haven't seen the nausea since. I'm still early at 4w5d so the m/s and nausea might be about ready to unleash on me soon. Haha.

When you guys did the hcg, did you have to mix it and were you able to get out all back out? I put the 1cc in to dilute, but somehow did not get anywhere near 1cc back out. Ugh, hope I diff didn't screw this last part up. Was it also absolutely clear after mixing? I could stop see particles this time to no matter how much I swirled it.
kiwi / 613 posts
@PurplePumps: Can you insert another drawing needle to try to get the remaining meds out, and do a second injection? Did you just have trouble keeping the top of the needle under the water line the first time? Or are you saying there's nothing left in the HCG vial? I'm sure you're fine!
I think I remember a few particles, it wasn't as clear as say the Bravelle and Menopur would be after mixing (if you do those). I think I may have diluted with 2cc but I'd have to check my notes.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@PurplePumps: I have used Ovridrel and I thibk pregnyl for HCG and they were always premixed. But I have used menipur and I had to mix that with saline.
The important part is that you get all of the saline to dissolve the powder. It's not really about volume for those meds and more about dose. If you put 1ml in there, you'll probably pull out and inject 0.8-0.9ml. I think you should be fine.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@PurplePumps: Fx for no issues! I'm sure it's alright, you did everything you can! I would call the RE today to check, but I bet you're good to go. I've been thinking about you!
persimmon / 1259 posts
@bluestriped bee: Maybe you'll get lucky like my BFF who had no morning sickness with either pregnancy. As for everyone else I know, it kicked in at about 5/6 weeks, haha. Good luck! I just see it as icky symptoms means you're growing a healthy baby (or two)! I so can't wait for Monday for you to find out!!
persimmon / 1259 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: @PurplePumps: @Momazon: @GreenThumb: Thanks for your enthuasiasm...that's helping me stay positive and hopeful! Isn't it so sad that after so many months and years of disappointment, I almost tend to assume it will not work? But I am truly trying to focus on holding out hope for this miraculous opportunity we have!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@momazon: I tried to put it back in but I just couldn't get anything out, it really wasn't much left in the vial, maybe like 2 or 3 drops. I just couldn't understand why I drew and injected 1cc into the powder, but then only got like 8500 back out. I didn't remember losing any liquid at all last time.
@bluestriped bee: I used ovidrel for my IUI trigger, then she switched me to the generic Novarel that required mixing. I never did figure out why.

@sarahnicole218: Congrats on starting stims! Thinking lots of positive thoughts for you!!!!

@FliegepilzHut: @GreenThumb: Thx! One more day though. Tomorrow morning. It's going to be a rough morning... ER isnt until 11am and no food alllll morning. Yikes!

@PurplePumps: Oops! Gosh, that is a long morning! Hope you have a great celebratory post-ER lunch planned (assuming the sedation doesn't bother you!)!
