Thanks everyone! The 2 were transferred today. They said one looked perfect, and the other was a bit behind, only 3 cell. So they aren't hopeful about that one, but say there's a small chance it will catch up. And now I'm back at work for a few hours.

@PurplePumps: Ahh, yes!! So glad they both made it to day 3 and that at least one is looking "PERFECT"! And now the waiting...I'm sending you some love right now. At least you can breathe a little now that the transfer is done.

@PurplePumps: Woohoo! Happy transfer day!! Glad both were transferred and hope that other one catches up!! Stick embies stick!! Got my fingers and toes crossed for you today!!

So I'm on Day 4 of stims. Last night was my last dose of only Follistim (225g). Tonight, I will lower Follistim to 150 and add a Menopur injection (1 vial). I will do the same tomorrow night and then on Wednesday, I will go in for an ultrasound, and bring my Ganirelix shot with me in case we start that on Wednesday.
I have actually been impressed with myself so far in my ability to give myself the injection and not dwell on it too much. I hate needles, but I have been icing it first and then, right when I lift the needle up to my belly I say, "This is for my baby" and just stick it in. As for side effects...nothing crazy yet. Occasionally I can feel a little twinge in my ovaries and I'm starting to feel a little bloated (like I can't suck in my tummy like I normally can, lol). When did those of you who've gone thru IVF start to feel symptoms? Or did you have any? What should I be expecting for the next week?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@sarahnicole218: glad your shots are going well! Great attitude! I didn't have much symptoms from my stims... Well, the bloating and mild headaches here and there. For some reason I was fine hormonally. I only felt hormonal during the progesterone shots for the transfer and before that, it was the bad moody PMS I got when I was getting off BCP.

@sarahnicole218: @bluestriped bee: Thanks! I *really* wanted twins cause I'm a little scare of trying again and having a baby at almost 40, but Id be thrilled with 1 too. Maybe we'll be in the 1 and done camp.
@sarahnicole218: Glad the stims are going well! I never had any symptoms during the stims. I think toward the end close to ER, I would look really bloated, but never felt any different.

@PurplePumps: yay! So happy you made it to transfer successfully. Fingers and toes crossed for you!
@bluestriped bee: what time is your u/s? I'm so excited for you!

@PurplePumps: So glad your transfer went well! Sending lots of good wishes and sticky thoughts!
@sarahnicole218: I just felt a little "heavy" toward the end...if that makes any sense. Have you had your first ultrasound yet?
persimmon / 1259 posts
@FliegepilzHut: My first monitoring ultrasound is on Wednesday, day 6 of stims. My baseline ultrasound looked promising though, 19 antrals on one side and 21 on the other. Of course, they'll have to closely monitor me for OHSS, especially since I have PCOS.

@Shutterbug: So far we got twins!!!! Still cautiously positive though. I know some of us lost a twin so I'm keeping that reality in the back of my head but excited that I made it this far!!! Next week, we go back to hear the heart beat!!
ETA: I think you guys are the only ones that understand how cautious we have to be. I was telling my sister and she kept telling me to be more positive. My sister has had an m/c before but I feel as though, if I was too positive, I'm insulting those who have had a loss, so I think I'm thinking of the reality how things might not work out. Does that make sense? I'm happy, stress free and I feel like I'm as positive as I can be with just a little bit a reality in my back pocket to keep me grounded. We all know what's it's like to get too excited and then to have the floor drop out on us. IF has made me jaded... Hasn't it?

@sarahnicole218: That's great! Looking forward to hearing more updates!
@bluestriped bee: YAY!!!! That's a beautiful ultrasound pic!
ETA: It is so hard to find a good balance between justifiable optimism and realism/the fear that things might somehow not work out as planned. Just take it one day at a time... Right now, you are VERY pregnant!!! Wishing you all the best!

@bluestriped bee: Double the excitement! Congrats honey! I understand your cautious excitement, but boy is that picture beautiful. I'm so very happy for you!

@bluestriped bee: wow, congrats!! I think you're entitled to be as happy and optimistic as you want and it can't possibly be insulting to anyone. Fact. You have twins right now!!! Be as thrilled as you want!! I think no matter what we have that little voice in the back of our heads, but tell it to hush down a little and enjoy this journeys victories as they come.

Follicles are growing slow and steady. Only 1 measured 10mm and the others are a little behind it. Had a good number of growing follicles, but I really didn't get any answers today...I'm supposed to call later for a dosage update. And then back on Friday for another look!
pear / 1986 posts
@sarahnicole218: That sounds great!!! Excited to hear about your next check on Friday, too!! When is your ER tentatively scheduled for? It all happens so fast from this point on
persimmon / 1259 posts
@GreenThumb: Originally tentatively scheduled for 23-25th. Not sure how realistic that still is? This is my first rodeo!

So my update is to keep the dosage the same for both the Menopur and the Follistim. They are worried about stimming too quickly because I have so many antrals....but now I'm nervous they won't mature properly at all. Always thinking the worst of course, ha. How long did you stim? Today is Day 6 for me, next ultrasound is Day 8 for me.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@sarahnicole218: try not to worry... staying on the same dose is actually a very good sign. Slow and steady wins the race I stimmed for about 10 days each time and got 16 eggs the first time, 19 the second time.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@sarahnicole218: I stimmed for a 11 days this time, and 10 or 11 last time I think. I agree that a good steady dosage is a good sign too. The first time (antagonist), they believed I was stimming too fast and kept cutting my dosage. I ended up with 16 eggs though (12 mature, 4 fertilized, but all arrested by 3). This time (lupron) they kept it steady till day 8, 9 egg, 3 mature, 2 fertilized. But my theory of the problem this time was stopping stims a day or 2 too early for me, cause I'm pretty sure the 3 matures were the 19mm ones and the ones less than 16 didn't get a chance to mature before ET.

@PurplePumps: Hey, two is all you need! And my fingers are crossed that those two are will result in at least one miracle baby for you!!

@PurplePumps: hey how are you feeling? Do you think you'll test before your beta?
