No in my upper buttocks and it's intramuscular. I've never had to do them before, so I'm nervous
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: Okay. My trigger shot was in my stomach. I was so worried about the intramuscular shots. Like serious anxiety. But honestly, it wasn't so bad at all. I think the stomach shots were worse. I liked to ice before (although, after a while, I didn't ice a couple of times and was totally fine). You should be just fine! Good luck!

@GreenThumb: If they did do a lap and find endo then your odds go up in the first 3-6 months after the lap. I've had 3 laps for endo. Let me know if you have any questions.
pear / 1986 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Based on @Aqualov: info, the lap could be a good thing before having IVF!! Definitely want to make the IVF count as much as possible.
@NorthStar: Great news!! Good luck tonight!

Levels are still 9 here. More bloods in a week. FFS! It's like the universe hates me! Why drag it out even longer??
persimmon / 1132 posts
@NorthStar: Yay for triggering! I'm sure it's a relief to have at least the repeated monitoring trips behind you. This process is SO hard and having extra pressures and responsibilities just make it unreal. Not to mention that you're doing all of those things jacked up on mega hormones! But you are almost there now! Good luck with your ET tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you
persimmon / 1132 posts
@GreenThumb: So glad that yesterday's crisis is now under control. How much more frustrating can the waiting get, right?! Phew that it doesn't seem like it will slow you down on getting started! I agree with you -- we need a BFP on this thread!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: So sorry that your last cycle didn't get you your BFP, but hoping so hard that your 3rd IUI does the trick!
@dookie32: Hoping your FET was easy and you're resting comfortably! Best wishes for a fast tww! Will you test before your beta?!
@jaguar: Ugh, sorry this is so hard and drawn out! It just sucks and I'm hoping you are keeping your spirits up through all of this. You are so strong!
@agold: Your FET will be here in no time! How are you feeling?
@Aqualov: Wishing you so much luck!

@Amorini: I was shaking so hard prior to the trigger shot because I was so nervous. But, I barely felt it!! My bum is a little sore today, but not too bad. I don't know what it is, but I feel fine today and shouldn't I feel sore or bloated? It makes me think that we won't get a lot of eggs tomorrow, but need to keep the good thoughts going..
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@endymion4: Hi! I forgot to reply to you yesterday. Yes, coming off the meds is hard for me. The meds and shots in general just suck and I don't enjoy doing it. I'm sorry you have a tough time coming off of them too.
@jaguar: I'm so sorry you have to go back for more blood work. Hopefully this next time you will be finished. I'm so sorry you are having to go through all this.
@Amorini: Hi there. How are you feeling? Any more updates on your condition?
@NorthStar: I'm so glad you made it through the shot! Its normal to be a little sore from it. And don't worry about not feeling bloated. I don't think bloat is too good. I had 10.5 eggs and didn't feel too bloated at all. Any bloat I felt I think I just made up in my head. Are you doing a fresh transfer or a freeze all?
pear / 1881 posts
@agold: Glad to know that having no bloat might be a good thing. I don't really feel any ovary pressure either and it's just weird to me, but I'll trust the process. Our plan is to do a fresh transfer, which would next Monday, if all goes well
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: Good luck with your fresh transfer! That is so exciting! Are you planning to transfer one or two embryos?
pear / 1881 posts
@agold: As long as we have a good graded embryo, we will transfer one. I am too freaked out about having multiples and that if we transferred two, what if those two split?? Since we already have a daughter, I would be happy with just one more. I've also heard that the pregnancy rates are actually not any better when you transfer two, even though some people have that impression.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: Yep, I've also heard that pregnancy rates aren't better when transferring two. Its not like by having a buddy transferred, one embryo is going to become stronger. My thoughts on transferring two are that if only one of my two remaining embryos is going to work, I want it right now. I'm okay with rolling the dice on twins. This is odd (or maybe not), but between my husband and me, we've each met with and talked to someone new who has twins every day since Saturday. It happened to me in the elevator coming up to work this morning!

@AmeliaBedilia: How did you know you might need a laproscopy? Do you know you have endo?
nectarine / 2192 posts
@agold: No, I don't know. My RE said I might due to my low AMH. In addition, I have moderate cramps and my mother had endo. I'd prefer not to have surgery (obviously) and lean toward doing IVF if this doesn't work, because I think that will get us closer to having a baby.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: That's all interesting. My mom had endo also that she discovered later in her life when she had a fibroid removed. I wonder if I could have it. My RE hasn't ever mentioned anything about that. I'm for sure going to ask at my appointment on Friday. Would the laproscopy set you back much time or money wise?
persimmon / 1132 posts
@agold: Oh, yeah, I forgot to update you all. I haven't had any more extreme pain episodes so that's progress. I have had some mild-to-moderate cramps and keep thinking my period is around the bend. However, I'm currently on CD 27 and AF usually starts CD 25-27 like clockwork, so I think it will come late. I took the pill 3 days early on in this cycle and had so many crazy ovary enlarged issues that I can't imagine things will be on track.
I'm getting kind of bored of this process. Like I'm just losing site of the goal and forget that we even have two "pretty good" embies in the freezer. Kind of predictable maybe? On good days, my hopes get up sky-high and I think that, with all of the setbacks, it's just gotta' happen for us first time out of the FET gate! 'Cause that's how the IF world works! hahahaha
nectarine / 2192 posts
@agold: I have a high deductible, so a laparoscopy would probably cost $5000 if I did it in January, but then I'm paid for the year. I don't know how much time it would cost. I'm going to see what the new guy says.
My master acupuncturist is booked until after thanksgiving. I talked to DH's acupuncturist who has worked on me before. She's super sweet, was told she could never have kids, then had two around 40. I've had migraines after acupuncture so she had referred me to the master, but will work on me Monday. Hopefully that, along with the Femara/ovidrel/IUI and possibly FSH, along with consulting someone new will do the trick.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@Amorini: I'm so glad to hear that the extreme pain seems to have passed. I hope that AF comes soon for you. IF meds has made my periods very unpredictable, too. I also get bored with this process when there's down time. Right now I'm "just" on birth control pills and i'm ready to move on to the next step. I hope you keep your sky-high hope on most days. Because how else can we get through this? I think IVF works exactly as you've said and a is lurking just around the corner for you!
@AmeliaBedilia: Oh gees. That is quite a bit of money. But I guess if you need it, then you need it.

Hi ladies! Thanks for thinking of me . Everything went smoothly yesterday. The procedure was so quick- kind of amazing after all this prep that it takes 30 seconds to do the transfer. We were done early in the morning so my hubby and I got to have a child-free breakfast (that never happens these days) and saw the new “Steve Jobs” movie. Movie was not so great but I got to stare at Michael Fassbender for 2 hours so nothing wrong with that ha!.
So now comes the hard part. I’m not sure how you are supposed to relax and not be stressed! I keep worrying about whether I’m moving around too much or doing something I shouldn’t be. This just plain sucks. My birthday is this Thursday- not like I do anything exciting to celebrate anymore anyway but no booze, no caffeine and trying to eat healthy?! Woo-hoo PARTY! Blood test is next Friday- I’m generally impatient but I also hate getting bad news so I’m pretty sure I’ll wait to POAS until the morning of my test.
@endymion4: I’m so sorry this FET didn’t work out. Hope you are taking good care of yourself. Being off of all the drugs has be nice- have a few glasses of wine for me please!
@agold: when do you start your prep drugs? I need someone else to commiserate with
@amorini: glad you are feeling better! I can totally understand your frustration- at least time is going to fly with the holidays and hopefully you can start prepping in Dec.
@jaguar: Hugs to you- hope you get to zero soon so things can get back on track.
@northstar: Good luck tomorrow! Very exciting you are planning on doing a fresh transfer. We may be testing around the same time
@greenthumb: Fingers crossed that you get to start this month. Waiting around not being able to do anything is so hard
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: Ack - it's already Wednesday! Just dropping in really quick to wish you much luck today!
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: thanks! They got 6 eggs, but not sure how many were mature. So now we wait until the call Friday. I just hope we have one to transfer and one to freeze
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: I've been thinking about you. How did it go? I'm anxious to hear the fertilization report!
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: ok. How are you feeling? Hopefully you're bingewatching some comedies.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@NorthStar: 6 eggs is a great start! I'm so glad you are feeling okay. Take it easy and keep positive!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@dookie32: I'm so glad you had a smooth transfer. And yes, the IVF TWW is the hardest TWW. But you are now pregnant until proven otherwise! Woo hoo! So i don't start meds until the 17th. It seems like forever. We can commiserate during this wait together!
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I'm actually feeling good, but we just got home, so no rest for me. Watching Sesame Street, of all things
pear / 1881 posts
@dookie32: I'm SO glad to hear that everything went smoothly! Try to take it easy (I know how hard it can be) and you will be testing in no time!!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@NorthStar: Yay, glad it went well. Keeping my FX for an excellent fertilization report!
@agold: @dookie32: Thanks for commiserating, ladies!
@AmeliaBedilia: Are your acupuncturists giving you any herbs or any other TCM stuff? Now that I'm on a break (so to speak!), my acupuncturist is loading me up with cyst-busting salves, herbs to remove dampness ("from all of the extra yin from IVF"... okay!) and yet another herbal salve to build up the immune system... Oh and I'm doing Mayan self-massage. I could be convinced of almost any far-out remedy about right now!
kiwi / 538 posts
@NorthStar: Glad ER went well- hope Friday brings some good news for you. Fingers crossed!
@amorini: I don't know what "herbs to remove dampness" are but sign me up! I know you haven't started the prep meds yet but they seem to know what's up. Seriously- not to get gross yet again (I feel like I always say this but you ladies are the only ones I can discuss this stuff with!) but everything down there is just generally getting disgusting with the Endometrin (plus I'm also doing the estrace vaginally- f'ing GREEN PILLS). I feel so completely disgusting- it's very itchy and uncomfortable. I never thought I'd say this but I'd rather be stabbing myself in the stomach instead of doing those stupid inserts!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@dookie32: Ugh! Sounds horrible! So sorry. And you can definitely not say anything too gross in this crowd, I bet!

Omg, i was convinced by the doctor/nurse to do a good start screen, and i saw the charge to insurance when i logged in yesterday. $6900!!!!!!! I just about fell over. It hasn't been processed yet, so i don't know what I'll have to pay. But has anyone done this? Please tell me it won't cost nearly as much. ....
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: what is a good start screen?! omg - I hope you don't have to pay that..
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@NorthStar: genetic disease carrier screen. Turns our I'm a carrier for muscular dystrophy and some other neurological disorder and now they want to test dh too!
