@momazon: Thanks for the heads up. I didn't use Bravelle but what a horrible thing to think, that your cycle might have been doomed from the start because of bad meds.
@fotolori1: I think that your embryos looks great! I wouldn't worry about the grading. I spent all my five days on bed rest looking up pictures of embryos and stressing about the way mine looked. In any event, I think yours look fantastic. Just relax and hope for the best! That's all you can do right now. You are pregnant until proven otherwise!
@jaguar: I'm so sorry that this is taking longer than expected. I can imagine how much you want to move on from this cycle. Can you try to relax and wait until next week? Maybe your levels will have dropped by the time of your next blood test and so you won't need another plan. Maybe you can ask at your next appointment that if your levels aren't where they need to be, then you'd like to come back into the office the next day to do whatever next step your doctor recommends. I'm keeping you in my thoughts through all this.
@NorthStar: I'm so sorry that none of the other embryos made it to freeze. Do your best to not stress out. You have a great chance that there is a baby growing strong in you right now!

@dookie32: hi there! how are you holding up?!? Friday is going to come up before you know it.
@Amorini: hi. any updates? I hope you are feeling okay!
@Hopingforbaby: Hi. how are you doing? Did you have a FET scheduled for today?

@agold: The recall was apparently because certain lots of the product wasn't holding its full potency towards the end of its shelf life. All the vials I used always had quite a lot of shelf life left on them, so I'm not sure if my cycles were affected, as I always responded as my doctors expected to the meds, but you never know! I can imagine if I had used it close to the end of the shelf life, I'd be really upset that it could've been a reason for failure! They're refunding all OOP med costs during an 19-month period, so I just need to gather my receipts later tonight. Another crazy part of the IVF journey!

@jaguar: Ugh, I'm so sorry about this. You've been through enough!!!! I don't have any advice for you, as I've never experienced this, but I'm sending you love and good wishes.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@momazon: Phew. That's great you know you responded appropriately. I wouldn't be worried then, either. And, at least you now get a refund. I'm not sure how much Brevelle cost, but I would love to get a refund on my menopur!

I'm about to receive an estradiol shot in the butt in my husband's car in the front parking lot of my work building. Anyone ever have to do something as ridiculous with their shots?
kiwi / 613 posts
@agold: haha, yes, in a parking lot at night driving back from visiting family.

@agold: I did one evening of stim shots in the backseat of our car during an outdoor event we attended back then. They were belly shots, not butt, though I had to pull my dress up! Memories!

@NorthStar: So, so sorry that nothing made it to freeze, but so, so hopeful that that one embie inside you is growing well and all you need. I was devastated when I learned how many of ours stopped growing. It was the hardest few days of this journey so far. Sending hugs and so much lucky baby dust!

@jaguar: Thinking of you! I don't know what I would do, but other girls' suggestion for an u/s makes sense. I've never heard of hcg numbers "blipping" like that while on their way to zero-ing out, so I guess I'd take every precaution to make sure I got answers. I get very impatient with my body sort of not working with me in this process. Your body is going through a lot and I bet it's doing the best it can to resolve this. Hoping you get answers and an end to this soon.

@agold: Hey, so I'm here trying to patiently wait for my 2nd period after ER, the freeze-all and the ovary cyst/twisting nightmare. If I count CD 1 the normal way, I'm on CD 33. Definitely not pregnant - not a chance. Usually AF arrives CD 26-27 ish so I'm like a week late. I have moments when it seems like things are starting, but I wonder if my ovaries aren't giving the big FU for all they've gone through.
Has anyone experienced a late 2nd period after IVF without other factors like m/c or BFN? When should I be calling the RE??

@NorthStar: I know my Thanksgiving plans involve lots of wine if I test negative this week- that's the only good that could come out of it! I'm so sorry about your other embies not making it to freeze. Good thoughts for the one you transferred- all of this is so hard :(!!!
@agold: I'm super nervous! I keep telling myself I should just test and get it over with but I'm too chicken :(. I've been having cramps on and off since last Thursday and some shooting pains in my uterus when I get up or sit down too quickly- I think those are good signs? But then again I'm still on all these f'ing drugs and who knows what are side effects from that or what could be pregnancy! Ugh. Are you doing PIO and estradiol shots? Ugh I've only had to do PIO- never in a car though ha!
@jaguar: That's crazy- you poor thing! I'm so sorry. Will they do an ultrasound next week if they go up again?

@Agold: thank you for your help! Just curious, why were you on 5 days of bedrest?? I wasnt, should I have been? Lo

@NorthStar: So sorry the others didn't make it, but fingers crossed that you only need the one!!
@Dookie32: Sooo close to finding out!! those all sound like good signs!

Hi everyone!
I joined a few months ago but haven't been very active...I'm a true lurker for my own sanity. I had my egg retrieval on Sunday, 8 follicles. Day 1, 4 had fertilized, day 2 we had 2-2 cell eggs and 2-3 cell eggs. My clinic does not look again until day 5, so fingers crossed we have something for transfer this Friday.
Thinking of you all, it's inspiring to read the board here and wish you all much luck with your next steps in this lengthy (but hopefully rewarding) process. Take good care!!

@dookie32: Sounds like good signs!! When is your beta?
@fotolori1: Wishing you best of luck!! When is your beta?
@Mrs. Pinky: I just replied on your other thread, but wishing you all the best for Friday!!
@Amorini: I didn't go through a freeze all cycle, but not too surprising your cycle is a little off. Couldn't hurt to call the RE to find out how long is long enough to wait for AF.
@NorthStar: I'm sorry to hear about the other embryos, but hopefully that little one is all you need! When is your beta?
@jaguar: I am just so sorry that this is dragging out for you! Hoping that they can figure things out for you asap so you can move on. This has been such a tough road (understatement) for you, I know you don't need another hurdle.
AFM: My case will be reviewed in committee at my REs office tomorrow and then I will get the list of meds (I think). Expecting AF on the 27th, so with start BCPs for 4 weeks then. Counting the days…

@GreenThumb: My beta is on the 25th. Hoping for a more to be thankful for at Thanksgiving. I have some soreness in my uterus today, so hoping that is a good sign!!
Yay for getting your case reviewed! About damn time, right?! Can't wait to hear how to goes and get your show on the road..

@Amorini: I hope your ovaries start behaving!
@dookie32: So hoping this is it for you! I get so anxious before AF is due.
@Mrs. Pinky: Hoping for a good report!
@GreenThumb: Glad they are finally reviewing your case.
AFM, my appointment was fine. The right side had an 18mm and either 14 or 15mm, then it took seemingly forever to find the left follicles-21mm and 16mm. Trigger tonight with ovidrel plus gonal f 100 units, then IUI #3 tomorrow. RE said the pregnancy rates are the same for IUI anywhere from 12-36 hours after trigger. He hunks I will ovulate 2-3. I'm going to try to meditate tonight. As crazy as it sounds, DH and I are wondering if the energy in the new house we are renovating might be better, so we might BD tomorrow night there. There is no furniture, no plumbing, light fixtures aren't in yet, so it might be an adventure.
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: Definitely a good sign! Hoping you have a wonderful gift for Thanksgiving!
@AmeliaBedilia: Actually sounds kind of romantic to BD at the new house! And glad your appointment went well - everything sounds good - FX for this IUI!!
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: sounds like your appointment went great! I agree that BD in the new house sounds like fun. Lots of candles, blanket on the floor - you can initiate every room of the house
nectarine / 2192 posts
@GreenThumb: @NorthStar: thanks, good ideas! We have a dinner we are supposed to be at, so I'm not sure if we will have a quickie beforehand or BD after. But we could make it romantic.
I got the paperwork to the new RE. Our appointment is Monday. I expect he will recommend ivf, and if so, the decision is who to go with.
apricot / 386 posts
@greenthumb: My beta is Monday! I am so nervous! I think I am going to cheat and take a HPT on Sunday. I can't decide. I don't know if I would rather take one then at home with my husband, or wait and hear the results when I am home by myself!
pear / 1986 posts
@fotolori1: Monday will be here before you know it! But, don't beat yourself up either way… do what you feel in your heart. I always took an HTP at least one day before.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@momazon: @Amorini: I'm so glad I'm not alone with getting shots in the back of a car. But Amorini - I think having to pull up a dress is more difficult to yanking down the top of my pants! Oh, the things we have to go through....
@Amorini: Learning how many of my embryos had stopped growing was also the hardest part of my first round of IVF. It was the most crying that I did. Even more/harder crying than my negative pregnancy test day.
As for waiting for your second period... I had the same issues with waiting for my second period after both of the IUIs that I did. Second period after both came after 40+ and 60+ days. I normally have 28 day cycles. It was really very annoying. I called my doctor after about 40 days for each and went in for blood and an ultrasound. I paid $171 each time I went in for that.
@dookie32: I bet you are nervous! Its all so exciting. My advice is to wait until the morning of your beta to test. That is just two mornings away. Either way - you are so close and i'm holing out so much hope for you and this cycle! And yes, I did, and am now doing, PIO and estradiol shots. The estadiol is only every few days. The PIO with the fresh transfer was once a day. With the FET, the PIO will be twice a day! Yikes! I start those twice-a-days on the 30th.
@fotolori1: Every girl approaches the issue of bed rest differently. I think you just do what you/your doctor wants. After my fresh transfer, my doctor advised three days full bed rest, and two days of light, modified activity. I just ended up taking the extra two days as more full bed rest. A lot of good that did me! BFN. Haha. For the FET, I scheduled it on a Friday so I can have three full days of bed rest, and then I will just go to work and home on Monday and Tuesday. I sit basically all day, so aside from walking to my car, I won't have much activity at all.
@Mrs. Pinky: Good luck! I'm hoping that those 4 embryos keep growing strong!! Pop back in whenever you want support or just to chat.
@GreenThumb: Hooray for case review and getting the FET started! Best of luck at your meeting tomorrow.
@AmeliaBedilia: Hey sexy lady! Skip the dinner. I think having sex in the new empty house sounds hot! Do it! As for your follicles, will the RE do an ultrasound before the IUI to confirm that you ovulated and how many eggs you ovulated?
apricot / 365 posts
@Mrs. Pinky: Good luck on Friday!!
@GreenThumb: Yay for a case review and getting this show on the road! hope all goes well at the review!
@AmeliaBedilia: Hoping #3 is your magic number! hope you have fun breaking in the new house
nectarine / 2192 posts
IUI#3 done. Post wash count was a little lower than before at 45 million, motility 65%. Then I got a chain text about God seeing me struggling and it will end now, and tomorrow (the day I ovulate) will be the best day of my life.
Funny thing yesterday- a friend had to pick up something yesterday at my house, and upon leaving, says, "don't have kids, they're so much hassle and so expensive." Then I went upstairs and gave myself ovidrel and gonal F.
pear / 1986 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: FX that this is the one! So ironic about that text - good sign! Will you test at home? When is your beta scheduled for?
AFM: I got the call that we are approved to move ahead and my meds will be on order soon!

@GreenThumb: Yay!!!
@AGold and anyone else who has done an endometrial biopsy--what can i expect for the actual procedure? (my pain tolerance is not very high :/). did you take any ibuprofen or anything ahead of time?
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: I had a biopsy a few months back and was very nervous leading up to it because my HSG was horrible. I took 800 mg ibuprofen beforehand and honestly I didn't even know they did it - the nurse told me when it was over and I didn't even realize, just thought the DR was still doing the wash or whatever . I know that isn't always the case, but I hope it goes that way for you, too. Either way, it is REALLY quick! :good luck:
ETA: I actually asked the nurse a few days before if I could have a valium and she just kinda laughed at me and said I would be ok with the ibuprofen.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Best wishes to you that this last IUI does the trick and you won't need that IVF appointment!
@GreenThumb: Hooray for the go-ahead!
@endymion4: Hi! So I wrote somewhere a few pages back about my biopsy. I took two Allieves an hour before. I found it to be painful for a handful of seconds. I was randomly extremely dramatic about it and felt as though I was going to pass out. The numbing shot that the RE gave me "up there" wasn't an issue at all. Didn't feel it. It was the stretching and snipping that caused me a quick horrific pain. But it was over so quick!! And I carried on with my day like NBD. I drove myself to and from. So just grin and bear it. Its a blip in our lovely IVF journey.

@agold: @endymion4: @NorthStar: Thanks ladies! I haven't had a go at this since back in the spring, so it is a really long time coming!

I took my HPT tonight- BFN. I know it's not completely over until the beta tomorrow but I have no hope. This year has just been one awful thing after another and I should have known better than to get my hopes up. I should be upset but I'm really just numb :(.
apricot / 386 posts
@Dookie32: Oh no.... I am so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. After waiting so long and trying so hard to be so hopeful and get a negative is gut wrenching. Did you have IVF this cycle?
apricot / 386 posts
@Dookie32, I just looked back through this thread and saw that you did do IVF, I am fairly new to this one, so I didn't know. I am so sorry. Do you have any frozen embryos to try again? How many did you transfer?
