    Had a monitoring appointment this morning. We are up to 10 follicles that are all between 10-14mm with a bunch more smaller ones that they didn't measure. Continuing with meds, I have another appointment on Friday. ER will probably happen on the 20th or 21st

    ETA: Uggghhhh why is the needle on the Ganirelix so dull

    @mrswin: That sounds great! Good luck with your appointment on Friday. ER will be so soon and all those needles will be worth it!

    @FliegepilzHut: Great beta! SO exciting. I bet its 2 in there:)

    @mrswin: The needle is dull? Oh man not looking forward to that one!

    Soooo, may have my first bump in the road for IVF. I got my estrogen level checked yesterday morning and it jumped up into the 500's. So they lowered my follistim dosing and I go back for another level in a few hours when i get off work to check it. Of coarse I am doing tons of research on OHSS now and freaking myself out. My heart is so set on transfering this month it would be a huge bummer to have to cancel transfer and do a FET if I over stim. Praying it doesn't become a problem.

    @GreenThumb: @FliegepilzHut: Thanks for the good thoughts ladies

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: It's not dull overall I guess but compared to the needle that comes with the Gonal F it seems like I am trying to give me self a shot with a sharpened pencil! LOL ignore me I was just being whin-y!
    When do you have an ultrasound? I hope that your estrogen levels out, at least they can adjust your meds and hopefully avoid overstimulating

    pear / 1986 posts

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm sorry to hear about your estrogen levels. I did end up with moderate OHSS during my fresh round so let me know if you have any questions. Let's hope that lowering the meds really works for you and you can continue on to transfer!!

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I think it's too early to worry about OHSS (which I think is associated with a final estrogen level over 4,000 or so) but my RE was concerned during my second stim cycle and put me on a medicine called Cabergoline which is supposed to help you avoid OHSS. I took it from somewhere around the day of ER (can't remember exactly when) for about 5-7 days and I didn't get OHSS.

    @FliegepilzHut: nice! Mine was a lil over 300 at 12dp3dt with twins!

    Btw, late to wait a week for a 2nd beta! I think I did mine like 2 days after or so, to make sure it was doubling.

    honeydew / 7968 posts

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I think it's great they caught it early and adjusted your meds. Towards The end of my stimming, they were afraid of ohss, so for two days or so, I wasn't on any meds until I did ganirelix or what not. Good luck!

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: Thank you! I'm in "wait-and-see" mode... I bet they can scale back and get things evened out for you! Maybe you will go for ER early, like I did!

    @mrswin: Welcome, dear!

    @tequiero21: Hmmm... I understand it could go either way at this point. Don't really know why they wait a week...but it's their protocol. Maybe because it leads to less speculation and early anxiety? Thanks for the good thoughts!

    @Mrs.Pinecone316: I don't know anything about OHSS, but it sounds like you will just wait and see now. At least they adjusted your meds. I bet you'll be just fine and can transfer this month!!!!

    @mrswin: I don't remember the dull needle for that one, but then again I try to block out the memory of all those needles from 2 1/2 years ago. Only ones I still remember are the PIO. LOL I'll be doing Ganarelix again so I'll let you know if mine are dull, too. Hang in there. You are almost there. Just a few more days!!!!

    @FliegepilzHut: What a great beta!!! My bet is twins!!!!!

    4 more days until I start. AHH!!!

  17. momazon

    @Jenn23: oh yeah, the Ganirelix needles definitely do feel dull! And can make you feel itchy at injection site. Good luck! I totally agree with @mrswin that it is like giving an injection with a sharpened pencil! Ha!

    I'm on Day 4 of stims for a new IVF cycle now-- seems like there are several of us with about the same timing. Fingers crossed for everyone!!!

    @Jenn23: This is my 4th fresh IVF cycle (eeks!). I got pregnant with the 2nd one but miscarried quite early at only six weeks.

    I had a monitoring appt this am with quite a few follicles growing, think most were around 10-11 when measured. I go in again Saturday. I'm on Bravelle and Menopur for stims.

    @swedishfish: thanks!

    @momazon: exciting!!

    I'm sort of jelly of all of you ladies going through your cycle together. I'm in a prolonged break after my two failed fresh cycles in January & March. Though I hope you're all long gone from this thread by the time I start my next fresh cycle

  22. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

    @Jenn23: Hahaha, as soon as this is over I plan on erasing all memories of needles from my mind

    @momazon: Oh my goodness, I am so relieved to hear that someone else has this issue, I was beginning to wonder if it was all in my head. The needle is hard to get in and then I get a nice big welt/hive at the injection site that is super itchy. Good luck with your cycle!

    @Shutterbug: Do you have any plans for what you will do next?

  23. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

    @mrswin: I'm working on losing some weight and getting into a better place mentally before starting another fresh cycle with a new RE. I literally stressed myself out to the point of getting Shingles during my last fresh cycle, so the break has really been helpful and needed. I think we'll probably cycle again in the fall some time, maybe early winter.

    @momazon: I'm using Bravelle and Menopur, too! I'm sorry you've had to go through so many cycles. I bet this one will be it!! Can't wait to hear how your Sat appt. goes.

    @swedishfish: Thanks! I'm glad it is finally about here. Hope you and baby are doing well!!

    @Shutterbug: I've been wondering when you would try again. And you are going to see a new RE this time, right? Try something different?

    @momazon: Thank you! Wishing you lots of luck, and a sticky baby!!!

    @Jenn23: SO exciting!!! Wishing you a great cycle (and the Menopur won't be that bad. )! That's at least 3 HB votes for twins so far...

    @Shutterbug: That's such a smart move... Wishing you tons of when you are ready to start another cycle! And I'll be a cheerleader for you!

    @kentuckygirl: Thanks!!!

    @FliegepilzHut: I'm voting for twins too! My level (with twins) on 10p3dt was in the 100s!

    @FliegepilzHut: Ah yeah, just realized your beta was later than my first one. Well, two days later it was just over 300. Are you hoping one way or another?

  31. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

    @twodoghouse: Not sure yet... "Healthy" is really what I'm hoping for at this point! Remind me: how many weeks were you with your twins?

  32. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: I went into pre term labor at 32 weeks and they hung out until I was induced at 38 weeks and 2 days! They were small but healthy! I'm excited to hear whether you've got one or two in there, but of course healthy is the most important!

  33. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

    @twodoghouse: Were you on bed rest for most of that time?!?

    ETA: It's being "out of commission" at the end of pregnancy...and the risks of prematurity...that give me pause with twins. But I do have twins in my family, so it's always been in the back of my mind. And I have no doubt about what a unique (and wonderful) challenge it must be to parent twins!!!

  34. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: Yes I was on bed rest from 32 to 38 weeks. However after 36 weeks I was on "relaxed" bed rest and started walking around the house instead of lying in bed the whole day. Basically my dr felt it would be safe to deliver once I reached 36 weeks, although now I am so glad they stayed put! Going on bed rest at 33 weeks was a surprise, but in the end it's what I needed to keep them safely in the inside so I'm glad my dr made that call.

    Had more monitoring this morning, we are up to 14-15 follicles, all between 11mm and 15mm, they have pushed my retrieval back to the 23rd. Back on Sunday for monitoring and likely a trigger shot.
