@Mrs.Pinecone316: So glad you are starting stims now!!! So exciting!!
@Sunshine1810: Yep, next cycle is the one for you as I've said before. I have a feeling your RE will simply change the protocol for the next one!!

@Sunshine1810: Please tell me if I ever overstep my bounds... I'm really pulling for you, though! Chin up!
@MrsMccarthy: That's a very auspicious possible b-day! (My DH would be thrilled! ) It's still VERY early...I will probable be over on the Pregnant after IF boards first!

@Sunshine1810: Thanks! Six more days! I should be going in on Monday (day 2) if AF is on time Sunday and then start stims that night! A little nervous today because I talked with an IVF nurse this morning about my meds and I'm wondering why I'm taking Bravelle and Menopur this time. Last time I was to take both, but my RE had me just take Bravelle. (wasted money buying the menopur) He was going to add it after a few days but didn't. So I called today to be sure it is both because I don't want to lose money again and she said it will be both. I wanted to keep the protocol the same! Oh well. Hopefully it is fine. Thanks for the support. Just want to get started!!

@FliegepilzHut: You're not at all!!
@Jenn23: Wow, so so close! Maybe they have had even more success with this protocol? Sorry you have to add the additional meds!

@FliegepilzHut: that makes perfect sense but know that you are welcome.

@FliegepilzHut: wooooo hoo! I really love hearing success stories, especially ivf! And I too am glad u didn't make us wait for beta. Those r some strong lines. Really hoping for twins!!! Hehe.

@GreenThumb: good luck today (if you haven't already done your transfer!!)
persimmon / 1316 posts
@swedishfish: It went good! Except for the shock of the sting from menopur it was pretty painless:)
@GreenThumb: Thanks!! Hope transfer went as smooth as possible and was sneeze free:) Did you transfer one or 2?
@FliegepilzHut: YAYAYAYAY congrats!! What a beautiful line!!! How many days were you again?
@mrswin: I'm on the antagonist protocol. Looks like 9 days of stims with estimated ER July 25th. How about you?! Good luck at your appointment tomorrow. My first ultrasound is friday.
@Sunshine1810: Thanks hun! All the prayers are much appreciated!!
@Jenn23: Thanks! It really feels surreal that I am FINALLY doing this. Your 6 days will be here before you know it. It seems like so much waiting them BAM its happening.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: that is the perfect way to describe it! Shock! I was truly shocked when the Menopur burned, even though I knew it would!

Our FET went off without a hitch this afternoon. We transferred 2 great looking embryos, so now we wait. Beta is next Thursday, but we will probably test at home beforehand . Thanks for all your good thoughts today! And having @FliegepilzHut: with a today definitely gave me so much hope! It is exciting to have so many of us cycling right around the same time - could be a lot of March/April IVF babies!!

@Jenn23: Sorry about the med switch up but I'm sure the Dr. has a good reason for it
@Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm doing an antagonist protocol too. I am on day 5 of stims (Gonal F) adding Ganirelix starting tonight. I have a monitoring appointment in the morning and will get an estimated ER date at that time.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@GreenThumb: Congrats. FX for a for you. Did you have to do a trigger at all with the FET?
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@mrswin: you don't need a trigger for a FET because you're having an embryo (or 2 or more) placed in your uterus. A trigger makes you ovulate and ovulation is suppressed during a FET cycle.

@swedishfish:
@mrswin: Thanks!! FET is sort of the fresh cycle alter-ego. The way I think of it, you shut off your normal cycle with meds (BCPs and then Lupron) and then add back all the hormones (estrogen and progesterone) that you would naturally make with more meds. It is actually really pretty easy on the body because you are not stimulating/triggering. Mostly it is about timing, building a good uterine lining, and hoping that the little embies make it out of the deep freeze. Pretty painless! Exciting that you will get an estimate for the ER! Moving right along!!
@Jenn23: Tough to change things up, but reading the other thread, it sounds like the protocol with Menopur might work really well for you. I looked back and that is what I did during my fresh cycle: Gonal-F, Menopur, and then Ganirelix.
@Mrs.Pinecone316: Can you believe July 25th is next week?! So exciting!!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@swedishfish: Thanks for clarifying. I thought I read somewhere that they sometimes trigger ovulation in preparation for a FET to get you into the LP but I may have made that up

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Very excited for you! Thanks! I was 11dpo5dt with no convincing symptoms...now of course I'm symptom-spotting galore! to you!
@mrswin: FX for more follies and slow, steady growth!
@GreenThumb: Hooray for a good FET! Hooray for more March/April babies on this thread!
@Sunshine1810: Menopur burned (why didn't I expect that?!) AND the needle was bigger... I was truly shocked...and ice became my new best friend.

@GreenThumb: Glad to hear that your FET went well! Here's to a positive week with a positive outcome!
persimmon / 1085 posts
@GreenThumb: So glad the transfer went great!!! Yay!!
@mrswin: Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound today!!!
I'm ignoring all this that I'm reading about the Menopur burning. Blocking it all out of my head!!!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@Jenn23: LOL just ice beforehand! It's really not bad, and since everyone has been telling you about the burning, I bet it'll be better than you're expecting.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@GreenThumb: Glad your FET went well! Fingers crossed for you!
@Jenn23: I didn't find the menopause that bad! As you know, it's all worth it in the end. Also, I obviously meant menopur up there but my phone autocorrected to menopause and it made me laugh so in leaving it!
pear / 1986 posts
@tequiero21: @FliegepilzHut: @sweetooth: @MrsMccarthy: @Jenn23: @twodoghouse: Thanks everyone! Resting and relaxing today. Still getting over my cold, but feeling positive!
And @Jenn23: I agree with others - I didn't think the Menopur was that bad at all. I did notice it, but I didn't even bother with icing most of the time. A few quick days and it will all be behind you!
persimmon / 1085 posts
@Shutterbug: Thanks.
@twodoghouse: Hilarious! I guess in the future we can all belong to a menopause forum and complain about hot flashes and such. Ugh! But that's a great auto-correct.
@GreenThumb: Thanks! Enjoy your relaxation day. Fingers crossed for you!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Jenn23: Definitely don't worry about it! I just didn't do my research beforehand and expected it to be just like the Follistim pen...and so didn't ice the first time. It wasn't bad at all after that...but I think the ice really helps!
So my beta today was......328! (My RE's nurse said we really can't tell, based on the number, whether it's one or two...and an article I just looked at online--which I don't think specified 3d vs 5d--- suggests about equal probability for singleton or multiple gestation with this number 12dpt.)
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@swedishfish: Oops...I meant to include that (before I accidentally erased-- then re-typed-- my entire message on my phone)! I have a repeat beta in one week and an U/S in 2 weeks!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@twodoghouse: LOL, hilarious auto correct!
@FliegepilzHut: Congrats on a great beta number.
@GreenThumb: Hope your embies are snuggling in!
