@sweetooth: sounds delicious and healthy!! I am definitely trying to avoid all 'no no' things since I've had enough bad worries about pregnancy without any added causes for stress!

@Tidybee: Glad to hear your routine appointment went well!

@Bluemasonjar: yay for LOTS of baby viewing! And bouncing too! Already having a party in there

@Mrs. Pickles: I second everything that @MamaCate: said. Especially the part about having prior knowledge before the baby is born and being able to have specialists in the room. My son had fluid in his kidneys and required some additional testing and monitoring once he was born. I didn't necessarily like the added stress during my pregnancy. But I was thankful that we had that knowledge so we could be proactive when he entered the world.

@ValentineMommy: I can understand completely about doing things that relate to your profession and having those things create a bond. I'm a graphic designer and I love doodling my son's name. And playing with the name together with ours & creating visuals. Thanks for the reminder to start doodling

@mrsjyw: I totally know what you mean. Dealing with infertility to get pregnant made me very cautious and aware of everything during my pregnancy. I'm just glad veggie sushi and subs don't break the rules Oh...now I want an avocado roll...

@sweetooth: I ate one of those at least weekly during my first pregnancy. I always prefer the bread (from there) and th veggies anyway. Add in the huge pickle and I was in preggo lady heaven!!!

Had an appointment yesterday to tell doc about my couldn't-pee problem (which had resolved). She ordered an ultrasound for my kidneys and bladderm. My favourite part was hearing heartbeat for first time.

@cvbee: so great you got to hear the heartbeat! And I hope your other issue is gone for good!

@cvbee: yay hb! And glad it resolved!!

I am 12w2d or 12w6d by last measurement and the nausea is still around...?! I am def wishing I enjoyed my earlier good days more! I stopped taking unisom and b6 because I felt better, should I go back on it? Just makes me so drowsy.

Also, when did you first start feeling baby movement? W ds I had an anterior placenta and felt first flutters around 18 weeks... And got stronger w each passing week but didn't feel kicks on the outside til past 22 weeks. Just curious if it will be earlier since they told me placenta is behind baby.

@mrsjyw: I didn't have full on nausea but I felt noticeably better (normal appetite, more energy) at 13w 1 d and have continued to feel pretty good. 14 weeks today! I think my doc said you usually feel better by 14 at the latest!

As far as movement, I had an anterior placenta last time too and didn't feel anything definite until 20 weeks. This time I swear I have felt little flutters for the past week or two. I notice it a lot when I am lying down, like after I get up to pee in the middle of the night. My OB said it was early but possible and that it was usually 16-18 weeks. So hopefully soon?

@mrsjyw: I felt DD pretty early (15 weeks) and I was positive from the start it was her. The muscle spasm feeling of the kicks were just undeniable This time I started feeling "rolls" around 12 weeks which also seems insanely early to me. It would feel like a little golf ball rolling for about 2-3 seconds and then totally disappear. But having had DD, I know what to feel for and what is gas or other things. Now at 14w4d, I'm starting to feel more of the muscle spasm type feelings that may be little kicks. When I told my doc, she thought it was early but possible given that it's my second and that I'm fairly thin. (Her words, not mine!)

We heard the baby's heartbeat today It's actually my due date for the baby I lost so it was a nice thing to hear today.

Hope you are all feeling well and we will all be saying bye bye to the nausea soon!

@Mrs. Pickles: @Tidybee: Thank you both. The anticipation of today was worse than the actuality of today. I feel SO lucky to be 15 weeks pregnant.

@travelgirl1: what a nice thing to be able to listen to on this day!
@cvbee: thank goodness it is gone! It sounded terrible!

I can't believe some of you are feeling baby already ! I can't wait!

Speaking of pee - Anyone else having trouble keeping it in? I can't believe I'm writing this on a public forum but I'm hoping it's not just me! I have the worst cold and a few times when I've sneezed I've had to change my pants! Yesterday it happened at work! So embarrassing! I had to borrow my coworkers workout pants :s This did not happen last time haha

@fuzzypeaches: I have gotten really really close. Probably total TMI but I have a bladder the size of a walnut (at least thats what my parents used to say,) so I have been going pee 2-3 times every night!

    cantaloupe / 6630 posts

    @simplyfelicity: @fuzzypeaches: @mrsjyw: @Reese: Thank you all

@fuzzypeaches: Same as @simplyfelicity: , I have come really close and I have a super strong bladder so was not expecting that at all!

What are you ladies craving? I am dying for a ham salad sandwich the way English supermarkets make them and I cannot get in Canada and it's killing me! It's all I can think about!

  21. MamaCate

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

@travelgirl1: belatedly, I am so glad you had such a wonderful silver lining on your old due date. I also felt like the anticipation was worse than the actual day for mine. Hugs!

Also, how do they make ham salad sandwiches in England? What's the difference?

  22. travelgirl1

    cantaloupe / 6630 posts

@MamaCate: Thank you! We went out for dinner last night to remember the baby, it was nice.

Mmmm well I think it's just that the ham is really thin and it's on regular bread, here it is all thick and they don't do it on regular sliced bread, it's all fancy buns. Just not the same

  23. fuzzypeaches

    clementine / 950 posts

@simplyfelicity: @travelgirl1: oh my goodness! It keeps happening! I don't know what to do lol. I usually have a huge strong bladder this is so ridiculous. DH is just killing himself everytime I change my pants. I might need to so some sort of poise/depends thing!

@travelgirl1: I'm still craving grilled cheese lol. What is a ham salad sandwich? Like chicken salad?

  24. MamaCate

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

@travelgirl1: it's funny the little things you miss, isn't it? I lived in south africa for two years after college and they didn't have brown sugar...I would have loved to do some homesick baking but the local 'substitute' just didn't compare. And when I was in England for a summer their sandwiches drove me crazy because they kept putting on mayonnaise without asking!

  25. travelgirl1

    cantaloupe / 6630 posts

@fuzzypeaches: Yeah it's just very thin ham on sliced bread, tomato, lettuce and cucumber and either mayo or mustard. And super delicious It has to be a packaged supermarket one though, not one made up at a sandwich shop. Just not the same in my pregnancy craving world!

@MamaCate: Ha ha, yep, the English love their mayo I can't get caster sugar here so my baking isn't the same either!

Does anyone know how to make one of these inspiration boards? I have never made one and would like to for the nursery.

So glad about everyone's good appointments!

If you're feeling movement already, does it seem to be getting stronger? I started feeling it really early and it seemed to be getting stronger, but a week ago it totally went off a cliff. I think I'm getting little twinges, but they're so weak they could well be gas.

I'm sure there are perfectly ok explanations, like the baby changed position, or I'm missing the movements because I'm busy... but I'm getting worried. I thought it's easier once you've been pregnant and know what to expect, but nothing about this pregnancy is like my first, and it keeps playing games with my mind

  29. fuzzypeaches

    clementine / 950 posts

@cait: haha coughing and laughing does it too!

@simplyfelicity: I have no idea I keep seeing them and look so nice though! So you have a theme in mind yet?

@Mama Bird: I think they change positions a lot still at this age. Try not to worry too much! I have a doppler and where I find the heartbeat (at 15 weeks now) still is totally variable! So I think their little feet and hands are always in different positions too!

I don't feel anything yet - I think I started feeling it at 19 weeks last time so I was hoping I would feel it earlier this time too!

  30. MamaCate

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

@simplyfelicity: I have never done it but I think I have heard of polyvore as a site that lets you?

@Mama Bird: my movement has definitely come and gone and I am only 14 weeks this time. When I mentioned it to my doc, she said not to be surprised if you don't feel anything for a few days. So I am trying to relax and be happy when I feel it but not worry. It is still so early!

@simplyfelicity: Lurking, as always I used a snipping tool (or just saving the image) and PowerPoint to make mine. You can save it as a JPEG after too!

Also, I woke up early this morning so I decided to try out a prenatal yoga DVD. There was a 30 minute workout that was not bad, but I miss feeling sore and sweaty when I am done. It was nice to stretch out and realize how inflexible I am. But for now I think I will alternate with Jillian until I have to do too many modifications. How are everyone's workouts going?

  33. Mama Bird

    pomegranate / 3127 posts

@fuzzypeaches: @MamaCate: thanks, I'm trying not to worry... it's kind of weird to go from being poked every day to pretty much nothing, but I know it's so early baby could just be hiding somewhere

@simplyfelicity: Are you thinking a paper board, or something to keep on your computer? I've done something similar with Microsoft Paint, but of course it didn't look nearly this nice!

  34. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

@Mama Bird: @MamaCate: @LindsayInNY: Thanks! I will have to try those. I have a lot of ideas but want to see it all together.
@fuzzypeaches: We decided on vintage baseball.

@MamaCate: I'm feeling really good so I've actually been doing all of my normal workout classes at the gym (bodypump, cardio and barre). Of course with modifications. But I did find myself doing jumping jacks on Friday and fr a little nervous. I also do prenatal yoga 1x/week. I ran until 25 weeks with DD and hope to keep everything up for as long as I can.

@travelgirl1: I would say my biggest cravings are for salads, cheeseburgers, and citrus. Last night we went out to dinner and I just destroyed a double cheeseburger & fries. You would have thought I was a drunken frat boy the way I inhaled that burger.

  39. simplyfelicity

I ended up using Microsoft Paint! Took a lot longer than expected but it looks how I was hoping. DH said, "that's a lot of stuff!"
