I'm only CD 8 so not sure when I will ovulate, but I will probably POAS on 7/30. It's the same day I got my positive with my daughter so maybe it will be a lucky day.

@SweetiePie: Thanks, it's really annoying. I noticed it's actually made me really grumpy at work.
I also made an appointment with an RE to talk about IUI in case we want to move forward with that later this year in the event I can't (don't) get pregnant again in the next couple months.

My friend introduced me to this board and it's hard not to get excited with everyone else so I wanted to jump in!
I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago this august and no amount of metformin, diet, and exercise has been fruitful.
I'm incredibly irregular, was averaging 4 periods a year since I was diagnosed. My Fiancé and I decided early this year that we are going to get to the serious side of this problem and are now seeing a fertility specialist and had my first round of Femara early this month in hopes of helping me ovulate. I got the Wondo's as suggested, but still a bit confused as to the best way to take them (what time of day and such).
Doing my best not to stress, but femara is a crazy hormonal ride that I did not enjoy being on and If I don't get that BFP this round I have to be on it again next month
Today I got the darkest line I've gotten so far on my OPK, but I don't know if it's bc I took it first thing in the morning?
Help would be appreciated
Cycle Day:17 or 18

@Mrs. Oreo: Ugh, so sorry. I hope the increased dose gets good results. Hugs.

@CoolCate: Welcome! It doesn't look to me that you have a positive OPK quite yet, but you're heading in the right direction! This cycle I used OPKs twice a day - once after lunch and once after dinner. I got my first positive OPK using second-morning-urine after a not-quite-positive the night before. For my next cycle I'll probably just test once/day, around late afternoon, since I sort of know what to expect (this was my first cycle off BC). Good luck!

New to all this - I was planning to take an FRER 7/16, the day before AF is due, but that's only 11-12 DPO. How likely is a false negative at that point?
nectarine / 2358 posts
@Marfi: crossing all my fingers for you!
@mrskansas: I'm totally superstitious about stuff like this. It's gotta be it!
@CoolCate: Welcome!
@Shybee23: I'm not sure about the chances for a false negative, but I've also found at least a shadow no later than 9 DPO. That said, it's completely possible to have a BFN up until like 14-15 DPO. I say POAS, but then don't lose hope until AF comes. Good luck!

Gonna go ahead and join in even though it's only CD6 for me!
Cycle Day: 6
TTC Cycle: #1
Ovulation Date: 7/19-7/21 ish. I typically ovulate CD13-15 but I haven't tracked since I had DD.
POAS Date: We'll say 7/30 for now!

What's up this month: My brother is getting married in Mexico next June so basically we need to conceive this month or next. Otherwise we’ll have to wait until after the wedding because of Zika concerns… No pressure
For Fun: Favorite hot weather recipe? Ice cream haha?

@skinnycow: GL these next two cycles! Sometimes the Zika threat area seems so hard to avoid, it's pretty frustrating. And you probably know this, but my doc told us to wait 6 months after returning from USVI with bug bites just in case I hope it becomes a non-issue for you guys with a quick BFP!

I must say I never truly understood when other posters were dying to POAS (except whatever, you do you everyone), but I think it's starting to sneak up on me Only 6DPO though so in my mind I know it's still wayyyy too early!

How many other posters here have PCOS? I know of one other person IRL who has it, but she is not ttc and also has a regular af.
I'm trying to wrap my head around what is going on with my body. I have ewcm, but negative opk's. I'm on CD 18-19. I saw on another website that one woman has extremely late ovulation and can have ewcm for up to 2 weeks before she actually ovulates. I wanted to know if any other PCOS gals out there have similar tales?

@nanilani: Thanks! Yeah the 6 months thing bums me out That would result in a much bigger age gap than we're hoping for but better safe than sorry!

@CoolCate: I have PCOS and have insane cycles. I would often have patches of fertile CM with no positive OPK. I was frustrated because even on Clomid, I would often not O until after CD 22, or even longer. This cycle I O'd CD27 on Clomid 50mg. It's frustrating and I found that I couldn't go completely off CM or cervical position.

@CoolCate: I've never sought diagnosis but I think I have it. My whole life my cycles have been irregular (as short as 31 days - rare - and up to 50+ days, with a 35-37 day average). DS was conceived on CD30.
It's extremely frustrating to predict ovulation especially because I don't get much EWCM. It is also annoying not knowing when to be prepared for AF. Temping has helped with both.
Prior to starting a family I thought it was great that I didn't get periods often but now it seems unfair to have so many less chances than people with regular cycles.

@nanilani: I shudder to think how much money I've spent on negative tests! It's only a few more days! You can do it! Best of luck!

@Mrs.Panda: Thanks for letting me know! Seems us PCOS gals ovulate later from what I've gathered. Knowing this def. helps with my stressing about it. You read about this stuff online all the time, but a direct response makes me feel a bit better. My doc gave me Femara to try instead of Clomid. Crossing my fingers and toes~
nectarine / 2358 posts
@CoolCate: that's awesome you got Femara. I was going to try that route if I didn't get a BFP this cycle. I've researched and Femara seems to work better for us PCOSers, but I had luck with my DD in the last on Clomid. I figured I'd go with the evil I know versus a new one

@Raspberry: I can totally relate to not much cm. I averaged 4 periods a year these past few and I can only remember a few times when any cm showed up at all. To have ANY right now is a huge surprise for me and hopefully a good sign that means my hormones are how they should be

@Mrs.Panda: My doc said the same thing, says he sees alot more results on Femara. If I don't ovulate this round, next round I get to add on the shot
Oh man, those 5 days I was on it was KILLER. If you have ever been under anesthesia or maybe a bit too much cold medicine, that was what it was like during the day. That crazy "high" and foggy brain feeling. Was at work and would HONESTLY ask if I was awake or not. Would get dizzy, nausea, out of body feelings, Hot flashes, and only a few terrible mood swings (not to mention night sweats and crazy dreams!).
Had a BIG swing the last day I was on it..
Terrible road rage on my way to get groceries, forgot my phone AND my debit card, went home and cried pathetically into an ice pack bc I was having hot flashes as well. Any similar effects on Clomid?

@Mrs.Panda: Another crazy thing is Femara was totally free with my insurance! Apparently it's used more often for women with breast cancer and they covered it. I for one didn't complain or say anything to anyone about it haha
apricot / 374 posts
@CoolCate: I was diagnosed with PCOS via blood test and ultrasound, but I have none of the typical outward symptoms and ovulate on my own so I tend to refer to it as "light PCOS". My cycles are irregular (the numbers are scarily similar to @raspberry's). This is the first cycle I've really tracked more than BBT, and without OPKs I would've been unable to predict O until my temp shift. I don't get a ton of CM and *TMI* have to use two fingers using FF's recommended method to determine what type I have each day. Consequently, I did notice patches of fertile CM way before I actually ovulated. I'll try attaching my chart in case it's at all helpful.

Ok, adding my chart did not seem to work. Here's the link: https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/494cc6

@nanilani: I'll have to give the basal temp a try since it seems to help quite a bit of you. I'll just add it to my ever growing list of things to track haha
nectarine / 2358 posts
@CoolCate: I actually didn't have very many side effects on Clomid at all, which is one reason I stuck with it. I've heard Femara has those crazy SEs so I was hesitant. I'm surprised they covered it still m, despite the breast cancer indication, butnim glad they did! I highly recommend temping, it was the only way I could confirm O without blood work. Fingers crossed for you!!

The wait begins! I just got home from my IUI! The question now is how long will I be able to wait before starting to test...
kiwi / 598 posts
I feel optimistic for the first time in months! Yesterday, I got solid crosshairs which I've only gotten one other time when we conceived DS over 3 years ago. It's also the 3rd cycle trying since our last loss and DS was conceived on a third cycle. Wishing everyone else waiting to test .

I'm one of those paranoid ladies. Since this is my first go with ovulation meds and such, I'm never quite sure what IS and what ISN'T related to ovulation or af since I'm so irregular to the point that I forget what normal pms is like haha.
My worry of the day is: Does anyone have lower back or hip discomfort or aches before ovulation? I sometimes have problems with it before af, but she's not due (hopefully, if the medicine is doing it's job) for another few weeks.
I'm currently dealing with a lot of discomfort in my lower back, almost dead center between my hips, a little more to the left than right. Been getting worse the last few days
