LO will be 2 in less than 2 weeks and her nighttime sleep has been kind of a mess for the last couple of months. She often takes 45 minutes to an hour to fall asleep at night (sometimes more!) in addition to waking up in the middle of the night for hours at a time. She doesn’t cry or fuss during either period – mostly rolls around her crib and plays with her lovey and the few other small stuffed friends she has in there or talks to herself. But I am really worried she is not getting enough sleep (plus I hear every sound she makes so I am not sleeping all that well either)!

We usually start the bedtime routine around 7 and she is in her crib by 7:30ish. Our bedtime routine is the same as it has been since she was a baby (although I think DH, who often puts her to bed, mostly gives in to the additional requests for more books so it may take a little longer than it used to). We have tried putting her to bed earlier, putting her to bed later, limiting her naps, etc. and nothing seems to make much of a difference. I thought it might have to do with her two year molars (the bottom 2 have recently erupted) but even Motrin/Tylenol before bed doesn’t really seem to make that much of a difference and she isn’t fussing so it is hard to justify giving her medicine every night when she may not really need it.

Her daytime sleep is mostly fine—although twice in the past two weeks she did not take a nap at all (both times were the day after a night where she actually had a good solid 10 hours of sleep). On the napless days we put her to bed a little early and she fell right asleep but was up for 2-3 hours in the middle of the night!

Is there some kind of sleep regression around this age? Should I just suck it up and ride it out? Or is there something else we should be trying to help her sleep better? Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!!
