@Mae: Sorry it took me so long. We use Caldrea detergent. I really like it, but it doesn't fit your fragrance-free requirement. I add about 1/2 cup in the fabric softener dispenser area in my front-loader; for diaper laundry I use 1.25 cups. I think Ecos has a fragrance free option and I am pretty sure that that detergent doesn't have buildup issues.

I have used a lot of sheets and my absolute favorite pair I recently purchased is from llbean. They are also wrinkle resistant. I wash them normally every two weeks and they are so comfy. Another benefit is that if you try them and find you don't like it, you can always return it and get your money back.

@birdofafeather: i think these are the ones I had for years following law school until I got married - so soft!!! The material just feels so nice. I may have to get another set

@Mae: I have a set of Wamsutta white sheets that I've had for years and no yellowing or wear....we use them in our guest room now and they are still bright white. I just wash on hot cycle with regular detergent (and I rarely use bleach). My DH also tends to sweat a lot and we had this set for about 2 years before we upgraded to a King bed and were gifted a new sheet set from my parents.

I love the Palais Royale sheets from BB&B. But because I'm cheap I only have 1 set and have to wash and put back on. I feel like they are a good heavy cotton and don't pill. I have about 4 sets of guest sheets though since I try other brands and never end up liking them.
