When did your kiddo lose their first tooth?
Our dentist said LO would lose her bottom two by Thanksgiving and the top two within 6 months after the bottoms. The bottom teeth are shifting and now all crooked. And tonight we confirmed that she has a wiggler. She's 10 days short of turning 5. I'm not sure it will hang on to see her 5th birthday.

I heard that if your kid got their teeth early they tend to lose their teeth early too. My LO had nearly all her teeth by 12 months so I think she may lose her teeth early. She'll be 5 in November. I am so not ready for this milestone!

@sandy: the dentist said 5-6 is fairly normal. The X-rays were so neat to see how they are pushing the baby teeth out and how the roots are disappearing.

Wait, they lose their teeth this quickly? I thought it was not until 6?? DS is 4.5 and I am not ready for it.....!

My dad's a dentist. He was telling me recently that girls often lose their first teeth earlier, and as early as 4 is normal. Average age is between 5 and 6.

DS was a week or so shy of 6
DD is 5yrs and 5 months and has 2 wigglers on the bottom!

My son just turned 5 yesterday and he has lost his 2 bottom teeth already! We were caught offguard when it happened so early (I think he was 4.5). The good thing is that he was thrilled with the tooth fairy's $1 and it was super easy to slip under his pillow.

@Mamaof2: @chopsuey: @RLCeigh: How long from wiggly to falling out? I'm sure it's not a science but I just am uncertain of how quickly to see this tooth gone. I know it's a process but I don't really look forward to the coming years of awkward smiles.

@MAMAG: his first one was wiggly for a few days and we thought we had time, he was eating a snack watching a show while I was making dinner and he brought me a tooth. I was shocked he had it! The second one was even quicker-- it got wiggly, bad mom I am sent apple slices to school as a snack and it came out that day in school. The nurse packed it in a cute little treasure box.
