LO's (23 months) sleep has gone completely off the rails. He still goes to sleep on his own pretty easily, but has been waking up at 12:30 or 2:30am crying and calling out for us. He gets really upset really quickly. When we go in he won't lie down or be rocked in the glider, he just fights and cries "go in there" (our bed). Once he's in our bed he has a hard time settling down and wants to talk. He is a really active sleeper and is ruining my sleep.

Last night was completely insane. He woke up at 11, DH brought him into our bed. Then at midnight he woke up and started yelling "eat, eat, milk, pancakes" and just kept yelling and yelling for food. I got him some milk and he finally settled down.

Is this some kind of growth spurt? late onset separation anxiety? a two year old sleep regression? a bad habit we have created? If it is a bad habit, how do we fix it?
