Anyone have it? Would love to hear more about it!!
At 25 inches wide, it is the slimmest side-by-side on the market. But I'm curious if people have found the seats to be too narrow for comfort?

I have the mountain buggy +1 (inline double) myself, and I it.
I know heaps of mamas with the duet and they all love it. no one has mentioned having issues with the seats being too slim!

@Penny Lane: my husband is emphatic that there is no way the seats can be comfortable if it is the same width as some singles!!
I wish there was a place I could see it in person before purchasing.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: ah, that's frustrating!! mountain buggys are everywhere here, I could probably walk down the street and see at least 5 being pushed around!
is there a review online somewhere maybe that has the seat width measurements and everything written down?

Looks awesome! That would really make navigating easier. But my combi is 30 wide and it's hard to imagine another 5 inches shaved off. Maybe when they were tiny, but not now thast they are toddlers. I'll have to see if I can find it anywhere to try!

@MerryC: I found a couple pictures via Google images and it DOES seem like the kids are pretty squished in there. It seems that each seat is about the size of an umbrella stroller seat?
However, all the reviews I have read say that kids love it--even up to age 3 or 4!
I am liking this option because you can take one of the second seats off, and then use it as a single with extra storage.
@Penny Lane: I think it said the seat width was 11 inches? I am not sure how that compares to an "Average" sized seat.
I have never seen a Mountain Buggy IRL! Where do you live?

Here's a good review..

@Rainbow Sprinkles: New Zealand original makers of the mountain buggy!
I wish I knew where my tape measure was so I could compare to my stroller seat width for you!

@Penny Lane: do any of your friends say anything about the seats being too narrow for their kids?
Are MBs as spendy there? The MSRP on the Duet here is $600!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: my MB Urban Jungle is 17 inches at its widest and the base of the seat is 11 inches wide.
My MB was about $900NZD including two covers and a bassinet but they are such a well built and awesome pram that they're worth the money!
@Penny Lane: throw a rock hit a MB or a P&T!

@Kemma: so, so true.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I've never heard anyone mention issues with the seats being too small. I've seen perfectly content 3 year olds being pushed around in them.
if it helps, my seat base is a little over 11" wide. like, maybe 11.4". my 36" tall, 27.5lbs 14 month old has room to spare. I can fit my hands width wise on either side of him comfortably. you can kinda see how much space he has left in this pic
and yeah, we paid close to NZ$900 for ours, but we decided we were okay with that as we knew it would last forever, especially since it can convert to a double

@Penny Lane: does your double inline accommodate an infant car seat and toddler at the same time?
He is sooooo cute!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: haha, thanks!
it can do an infant and a toddler, but not an infant carseat. it comes with an infant carry cot that slips in behind the toddlers seat. (http://goo.gl/hdzLQF)

Another pic for you! Miss A is twelve months and a shade over 20 pounds - she was very excited to be modelling her pram!

We have a MB Duet! Got it when my kids were 4 and 1 yo. My kids are long and lean (skinny), so it's not a problem. I think the kids in some of these pics look squished because they have footmuffs and thick jackets on too. We moved to a warm state so don't use that stuff much anymore!
I was amazed at how narrow it is, and it is partially why I bought it. We have a very narrow front door. By saying it's the width of some single strollers, they are really talking about wide jogging strollers, such as the Bob, which has a wide width mostly because the wheels are out to the sides of the seat. In the Duet, space is used more efficiently, since the wheels are not out to the sides, but under the seat frame.
I'm sure if you search Duet on here, you can find me talking about how much I loved my Duet in the past. It was good for us at a time when I walked a lot with the kids and solo parented and wanted something to lightly jog with.
If I had more space for storage though, I'd go with a Double Bob. It's a behemoth, but my dream double!

Btw, do you have a Buy Buy Baby near you? That's where I saw mine on display and purchased it. Also try calling high end baby boutiques.

@SAHM0811: my husband is adamantly against a side by side because he really does not want to take up a large footprint on our boardwalks, the mall, etc. I know it is funny he is so opinionated, but the duet is the only side by side he is open to because of the size.
We were initially planning on getting the britax b ready, but I don't know how my toddler would feel about being in the back seat.
eggplant / 11287 posts
@SAHM0811: we don't have a BBB! Only BRU, and ours tends to carry lower end strollers. According to the Mountain Buggy website, the closest place to me that sells MB is in Victoria, Canada!! (I'm in Seattle area)

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I hear ya. We had a Uppa Baby Vista with rumble seat and fwiw, my 3 yo didn't mind the "back/bottom seat" at all! And at least with a B-Ready, there are more seat combos and a toddler could sit in the main seat and the infant carseat can go down at the bottom and still face you, right? I know there's so much to think about with doubles! I didn't get either double til our 2nd baby had already arrived and we knew better what we really wanted. Good luck!!

We have one! Love it. It's great because our doors aren't standard size, and it was the only one that a) didn't feel like a boat and b) fit through our doors. The seats are a foot wide, so they are pretty narrow, but it's really easy to maneuver. Its only downside is the weight, but I don't think that it's unreasonable. I could lift it when I was pregnant with twins, so I think that its doable. I've been trying to sell our car seat adapters, so if you need one and want to spend the $10, I can get it to you! I live in West Seattle. The picture is of the kiddos at 9 months, 20ish pounds, 29ish inches.

@meganmp: do you feel like there is room for your kids to grow? I will have a 20 month old and a newborn.
persimmon / 1420 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I do think they can grow. I mean, if they end up being total chunk-a-monks, we might have a problem, but they're looking good so far. It is narrow, but as an adult my shoulders are 17 inches across. A 3 year old is going to be much less. Hell, if you want to check it out, I can bring it with me to go pick up the kiddos from my moms, and you can look yourself. Let me know if you want to meet up for the adapter or to check out the stroller- I am in Des Moines almost every Thursday and Friday around 5pm.
