I had never heard of the Mountain Buggy Nano before today and saw it mentioned on two posts! I looked it up and we actually have one that is very similar but has been discontinued. We LOVE it. I would say it is so worth the extra cost to have the ability to put it in the overhead bin. DH and I often say to each other that this stroller has been one of our best baby purchases. Recently we took a trip with my mom and used her umbrella stroller, it is just a cheap thing that serves its purpose but it was kind of a hassle - you have to wait after getting off the airplane for the gate checked stroller (doesn't seem like a big deal until you have two antsy children and can't get away from that airplane quick enough), there is no space on the cheapo to store even a small bag or anything, and worst part - you need both hands to steer it. MBN looks like it is similar to ours in that it steers like a dream and one handed is no problem which is key for travel. I can't speak specifically to the two you mentioned but I highly recommend splurging on the MBN if those are the two you're considering, you will be glad you did.

I just ordered the mtn buggy nano. I hope it's as good as the reviews state.

i also love our MBN! we have a UB cruz for our every day stroller (which we love love love) but sometimes i don't feel like taking it down the stairs to the main street.. and find that the MBN does really well as an every day stroller also (except for the smaller under basket)..

** i've traveled several times with the MBN and find the shoulder strap easy to use to transport. (i've had lots of experience walking long terminals with it packed up) and also actually many times just sit it on top of my roller carry on suitcase a lot and use the band it comes with to tie it secure to the roller...

** you can carry it onboard .. but it technically doesn't comply with the carryon regulations (like some other similar but more expensive models).. i hear it's not a problem and i haven't come across any issues but i usually gate check it anyways because we rarely check in luggage and i don't want to carry the stroller onboard as one of my carry ons..
** love the recline.. wish it was a one hand adjust but i don't think they have those on umbrella strollers?
** like foodnerd81 mentioned the canopy is just OK (i am used to the uppababy canopies also and those are so hard to beat!) but its decent.

if i had to do it all over again i would probably get it again. i really love the fold since i can carry it hands free which is so crucial in the airport or when you are by yourself and i think it drives very very well for an umbrella stroller!

@hellobear: I totally didn't realize there was a shoulder strap!! You have blown my mind. I'm excited to try it on our upcoming trip... I've just been carrying it by the handle when folded up!

@Kemma: Thanks! We are having a wonderful time. LO won't remember anything, of course, but we are doing lots of special things for him (really for us, haha!), and taking lots of pictures.

@Kemma: We're travelling around the North Island only. LO is too young for all of the adventure tourism, but we've doing lots of other things that NZ is known for, including
mud and thermal pools, volcanoes and vistas. Great so far!

I don't have either one but the Nano looks so cool!
