We are bringing our g-luxe umbrella stroller on our flight tonight. I don't have a bag for it- planning to gate check it. Is this a bad idea? Does it need a bag? We always previously travelled with the snap n go and didn't use a bag

We have the ub travel bag and never had issues. Was worth the replacement guarantee for our most used stroller.
I know of other users who've never had an issue without a bag and others who've had issues even w it.

We did not use a bag for the umbrella stroller we took to Philly, and it was totally fine.

Rather than buy a bag I put it into one of the bags that our foldable camping/park chairs came with. Worked great.

I used a bag just because the guarantee with it is so good. I've seen strollers destroyed both with bags and without and feel better having the insurance.

I liked using the bag simply for the fact that it got incredibly grimy and I didn't want that grime on the stroller.

Some airlines will give you a plastic (disposable) bag at check-in or the gate. Southwest had bags for us the multiple times we traveled with them with a stroller. That was enough protection for us.

Our airline just gave us a clear bag because I had no idea we needed one and its a $20 stroller.

I would only warn that if you gate check it without a bag and something happens (like a piece gets loose), the airline will day they aren't liable.

My G-luxe was broken snapped into 2 pieces INSIDE the UB travel safe bag on a recent flight. My livid complaints waged publicly on SWA's FB page. lol. But UB was wonderful and replaced the stroller after I sent the photos including the bag. I always travel with the UB bags whether it's my Vista or G Luxe.

We always travel with our cheap umbrella stroller in a bag. It maybe cheap but I don't want to have to replace it when we get to our destination. Hope yours arrived safely.

We never used a bag, just the plastic one they put over it and haven't had a problem w/ our Maclaren Volo.
