I had an ultrasound last night, I thought I was 6 weeks based on lmp, but taking a closer look at my ovulation date (confirmed with OPK and monitoring, been seeing a fertility specialist since Dec./15) it seems like I was only 5w4d.
Anywho, the ultrasound showed a gestational sac and a yolk sac, no hb or fetal pole.
I left the appointment heartbroken, but after research found that might have been normal?
Experiences? Ideas? Suggestions?

What did your OB say about the results?
I think its very normal to not see anything until the end of the 5w or start of the 6w. But there are always people at are the outliers that see it earlier/later.

It was the same for me. At seem to recall my first U/S around 5/6 weeks didn't show anything but a sac. I had a very healthy pregnancy and healthy baby. Don't stress yourself out.

@T.H.O.U.: OB did say it could be too early and scheduled me in for another one next week, but soon and gloom me only heard that there was no heartbeat and we'd have to wait to see what happens.
I'm thinking I'm overthinking it... Haha.

From what I've read, most U/S at that time don't show much so don't lose heart. I'm sure your next one will show so much more. It's amazing how much growth happens in just a short time in the first trimester.

For my current pregnancy, my first u/s was at 5ish weeks showed only a sac. They scheduled a second u/s around 7 weeks and we saw a heartbeat. Hang in there!

Normal! Like you, I thought I knew exactly when we conceived, but at my first appointment there was no heartbeat (before 6w). At the next one, there was!

I had one done around the same time and that's all I saw as well. One week later we were able to measure the heart rate

No experience with the lack of HB in an US but with my first I knew when we conceived - like DH and I only DTD once that month...so I knew.
At my 7w (based on lmp - which lined up perfect with conception date) U/S they told me I was only measuring 6w and moved my due date back. I was terrified something was wrong (to be 1w behind already) and annoyed I lost a week. She's now a healthy and happy 2.5 year old...

Thank you so much for replying everyone! I feel so much better reading other peoples experiences and it's making me more hopeful for my appointment next week. If my calculations are correct for the next u/s I should be 6w4d. Hoping to see the hb then! But I will settle for progression!

Same happened to me -- 25 weeks now I went back at eight weeks and all was good!

Yeah I thought it was pretty much impossible to get a heartbeat before six or seven weeks.

My RE didn't do ultrasounds until 7 weeks because you may not see anything before then. If you're seeing one in surprised they handed you off to your OB so quickly.

The same happened to me two weeks ago.
I have my follow up appointment tomorrow to see if things have changed.
