@Kaohinani: I made an appointment with my family doctor, who doesn’t have a slot until the 13th and then I guess I’ll see what he says. I assume I need a referral to an obgyn if he deems it necessary as we don’t have to go see them here unless there’s an issue. He does my paps and I have seen Midwives at a separate practice when pregnant. If it were me I’d just do all the test for me! Obviously. He may shrug it off, but maybe he’ll surprise me and at the very least rest my thyroid levels since he did that after my first pregnancy, but not my second for some weird reason. Feeling deflated and like the next few months won’t work because whatever issue I have needs to be resolved first, but it is out of my hands. I did tell my husband I though number 3 might be tricky and it’s looking like I was right.

I’m cheerleading all of the wonderful women on this board on and will live vicariously through the bfps!

Anyway, on to Halloween! My eldest is so stoked. It’s birthday/ Christmas level excitement from that little 3 year old. My husband and I are going to each take her out for a little bit down our street like we did last year and the other parent will stay home and hand out candies and probably have the toddler who seems to be terrified of all the “spooky” Halloween decorations that speak and that’s equal parts hilarious and tragic for me!

Go for family costumes as long as possible!

@Kaohinani: cute! We were going to do a family costume, but my dd really wanted to be a princess (although she has now changed her mind a million times) and ds loves Batman, so we decided to let them do that. Plus, I wasn’t super excited about wearing spandex lol. I’m just going as a boring witch (black outfit and hat) and dh is going as the big bad wolf. Dd picked his outfit because she’s been scared of the big bad wolf lately for some reason, so this is making it silly for her.

@Kaohinani: I am totally slacking on the halloween front. I made his tie, dyed his shirt, ordered pants, and made his hat... But the hat isn't finished, and his belt hasn't been made. Hell he hasn't even tried anything but the pants on yet. So as soon as I get home the top of the hat will be closed, hat band attached, belt made, cow poop washed off of his rainboots he's wearing, AND then HOPEFULLY he is on board with dressing up... Because well, he's 2, and his mind changes in the blink of an eye. Will post pics if it's not a total bust

P.S. I LOVE all of your updates/shares, ladies!

Just got back trick or treating with the kiddos. It was crowded but super fun. Here is a quick messy pic of my kids cause it was so busy we didnt have time to take good pics. My son was leonardo from teenage mutant ninja turtles and my daughter was snow white.

On a different note I think I have a cyst. I'll let my doctor know. My bloat was supet bad on my left side but I noticed my "bloat" never went away. It got worse and was super painful. Still in a lot of pain right now. It comes on and off.

Hi ladies. I’m back after occasionally popping by to stalk for the past few cycles. Last cycle was a really annoying 60 day cycle (for the first time since we’ve started TTC). I used to have horribly irregular cycles, but since this past May they’ve been consistently 30-35 days, so I was pretty down with the sudden 60 day cycle.

I tried temping for the first time this cycle too and that was a bust. I’m not very good at things that require consistency haha.

    Cycle Day: 26
    TTC Cycle: 5
    Ovulation Date: 10/25 I believe
    POAS Date: 11/05
    Baby #: 1

@Kaohinani: Ha, my first choice would be to dress up in my pajamas and not go to a crowded place full of kids on a sugar high, but I guess that's just because I don't have any of my own. If I did, I would enjoy it just to see their excitement.
Maybe I'd dress up as someone form the Lord of the Rings or the Harry Potter books. Or possibly a pillow (it's 9am, I'm at work and miss my bed already.)

We don't celebrate Halloween, I mean it's getting more and more popular and there are costume parties and stuff, but we don't go trick-or-treating.
We have two days in November that have some similar customs and are with a long history originating from medieval times. People used to go from door to door to get food and bring good fortune to the hosts, but they had to sing or dance for the food first.
Now adults don't do it anymore and even children rarely go. If they do go, they still will not just knock on the door but they'll sing until they're let in and given candy. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be too happy about getting bread and meat nowadays.

    @yellowbeach: @cyoung: Great pictures!
Yellowbeach, DD is so flipping adorable in her plane. That costume was a definite win.

@paranundrum: My favorite idea of yours for a costume is the pillow... When I used to have a desk job, I missed my pillow by 10 am! 🤣 *laughs* I love hearing about different countries and cultures celebrate (or do not celebrate) holidays and seasons. Thank you for sharing.

@Megpie: Welcome back, Megpie! 🙂 I can imagine how frustrating a 60-day cycle would be! Glad to have you finally rejoin the board, though. Good luck this cycle.

@cyoung: sorry to hear you think you have a cyst! hope you’re feeling less pain!

@megpie: Welcome! Sorry you’re having a frustrating cycle!

As for me, still taking OPKs with no luck. I ovulated on CD 15 last month so I was hoping I’d be seeing darker OPKs by now. Today is CD 14. Here’s mine from this morning.

So OPK lighter this morning with another uptick in BBT. I guess the truth will tell tomorrow if I get a 3rd day of riding BBT.

Tested this morning, bfn. I know it’s early (9 or 10 dpo) but I’m not feeling it anymore. Maybe for the best, it looks like I’ll probably need back surgery. I’m waiting for an appointment with a couple of surgeons, but the back specialist I’ve been seeing (who does not do surgery) thinks I may have to go that route. I’m going to talk to him about it more today and then y’all to the re to see how long I’d have to wait after that to try again. I’m nervous I’ll run out of eggs 😩

Holy moly has it been a busy day!!! I apologize for not being more present today as the board moderator. We brought my in laws back home right after I got my DD off to school and DH off to work. Got back home an hour ago just to put DS down for a quick nap and start 3 loads of laundry and "post-guest" clean up before DD returns from school. DH will start packing for 3 days of field training (reserves) tonight so I've also got to get his gear unloaded from the garage. No break for the weary and no time to focus on the TWW today! 🤣😂

@QBbride: I thought there were like 5 or something when I creepy-creepered onto the board a week or two ago (time flies so IDK when it was. Lol) to say "hi" and that I hope to legitimately join you all so I won't be the "Mama-stalker." 🤣😂 Alright, well, we've got to start to get some NOVEMBER BFPs rolling to join the July Mamas, eh? 😉🤞 I'll try my best to send some ladies your way!

@Sams Mom: If I make it this month, my due date according to one app I use will be July 18 and to FF will be the 14. The 14th would be nice bc I was married on that date (1st marriage) and could use a better connotation with "Bastille Day" than my ex-husband. 🙄😏🤣😂🤣😂🤣

@LAZB: THAT is VERY SMALL print. Even after taking a screen shot and enlarging, I can barely make out more than 10 words beyond the headings, subheadings and discs because it is blurry. 🤔☹ I can make out protrusion, diffuse, stenosis... It's like Darwin's grab bag of vocabulary. 🤣 Would you happen to have a clearer screenshot?

  39. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@Kaohinani: lol, it is hard to read isn’t it? My doc did just text back (non surgeon) and says it’s pretty much what we discussed (2 herniated and 2 degenerative discs)

  40. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@LAZB: Ok, so you don't need me to attempt to translate. 😂 Well, I tried. Anyway, what does that look for in terms of surgery? My mother had surgery for 2 herniated discs and 1 fused. She has a couple microscopic incision scars from laparoscopic surgery on the herniated and lazer-lap on the fused. Recovery was fairly short. She was on blood thinners for a bit due to clotting concerns (unrelated) but is fine now.
