@Charm54: hope your little one comes soon!! I have 1 week left and am also getting so anxious to meet him!!

@mrsjenbug: congrats mama!! so exciting! Hope you are doing well!!

I wasn't early with LO1, right on time, but I just assumed second babies always came early but it's looking like that isn't the case!! The nurses at my doctors office said last week that they see so many second time moms go later than their first not cool!

@NovBaby1112: omg so not cool!! I am seriously nervous now that I will be late as well...I think I will make a few accupuncture induction appointments for next week when I'll be 38.5...

@NovBaby1112: I'm setting a BAD example and as I scheduled my NST and induction the nurse at the hospital said all of her mamas we're going late right now for some reason!

@NovBaby1112: that seems unfair! Haha. One perk for a second or third time mama should be slightly earlier delivery. My mum had 4 kids on their due date and two a few days late. One was the third baby and the other was the fifth baby. So she just assumes mine will be born on schedule. My sister was 10 days late with her first though.

@hellobeeboston: you're almost there! I agree - the last few days has gone by faster than the last few weeks. Maybe because I know they won't let me go 10 days past my due date so the end is in sight.

40+10 is Thanksgiving weekend though, I really don't want to be in the hospital over the holiday I'm going to ask tomorrow at my apt about scheduling an induction for 40+7 or 40+8 so I can be at home , hopefully, by Thanksgiving day. I don't know if they will go for it or not though

@Charm54: i bet they will do it a bit earlier, the hospital is probably less staffed anyway so it makes more sense for you to go earlier!

Just had my 39w appointment. Last week my doctor told me they would schedule an induction if I made it today. Last week I was 2 almost 3 cm, 80% effaced, and -2 station. Today I was just 3 cm, 70% effaced, and still -2 station and he told me to see me next week.

I'm really disappointed he didn't tell me to schedule the induction and I guess I could have asked why, but I know it will be better for me to just go into labor naturally. He just got my hopes up last week when he told me he thought I would go before today and that he would just induce me if not.

@hilsy85: I made an appointment for reflexology/accupressure for Monday...I hope it'll help if I'm still pregnant then!

@hellobeeboston: i have a feeling I'm going to be late too...

    @Mrs. Goose: sooo not fair!

@Charm54: hopefully you will go before then and not have to worry about it! But I agree, I bet they would go a bit earlier in that case

@renee0106: I'm sorry you are disappointed I have a feeling I'm also not going to make progress at my appt tomorrow. My dr also said she would induce me after 39 weeks but I just want to try and go on my own..

For all of you waiting for labor. ...I had a foot massage the day I went into labor! Just saying.....;)

    @mrsjenbug: Congrats!!

I also find it so funny that we've had very few October babies so far! My last DD thread (Nov 2013) it seemed like almost everybody went early, many the month before, and by mid-month we only had one or two mamas still waiting for their LOs!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: ooo good to know! I made an appointment for a reflexology labor inducing foot massage for Monday so hoping that helps!

    squash / 13764 posts

@Rainbow Sprinkles: @NovBaby1112: I believe it! I had induction reflexology the day before I had LO1. I am making an appointment for next Tuesday, and next Saturday the day after my 39w appt.

Still no progress here. I guess that doesn't mean much anyway but I'm shocked because my pelvis feels like it's going to split in half or from my legs and the past two days my whole body is going crazy. Recheck on Monday and nothing is written in stone but OB is talking induction by Wednesday. Due date she has is next Fri but he has always measured ahead of that except once, so I'd basically be 40w at induction and I'm still kind of holding out a little hope for this weekend.

  18. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@2littlepumpkins: @renee0106: I'm surprised your doctors were so willing to do (or at least discuss) inductions so early! I think the earliest my doctor would do one would be 41 weeks barring any issues. I hope you both go earlier, and it isn't necessary!

  19. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@hilsy85: it came up because I've had borderline low fluids, which can apparently mean the placenta is not working as great as it could be. I've also started losing weight (or at the least not gaining, but more or less by what I'm measuring at home losing a lb a week.) We're still playing it by ear though! Same doctor last time didn't bring up induction at all. Plus she knows how miserable I've been this whole pregnancy. eta, oh and by wednesday only because she won't be there by Thursday and so if not by Wednesday I'll be overdue, which is not good with the fluid issue.

@2littlepumpkins: ah gotcha, so sounds like there are extenuating circumstances!

  21. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@hilsy85: yeah I'm having a little trouble discerning how "bad" things are. Her concern seems to go up and down every week. If I'm still pretty much the same Monday I may decide not to go through with it because I really don't want a c section.. And it'd be unfortunate to get one when I could have waited just a few extra days and had a vaginal delivery. On the other hand I'm really bummed about maybe getting the same on call dr as last time, but whatever I guess! Hopefully things will happen and I'll have some progress Monday, or deliver on my own!

Anyone having this odd boob symptom?

I know it's normal to leak but the past week or so I'll get tingly/sore and then if I squeeze out a drop or two it'll feel better, but it doesn't always come out right away on its own. I didn't leak with lo1 so not sure if this is totally normal or kind of weird?

Who all is on the east coast? There's a storm moving up the coast and the drop in barometric pressure can bring on labor apparently. I'm currently 38+3 and while we aren't on the coast, we're a couple of hours away and are forecasted to get storms Friday and Saturday so I'm interested to see if anything happens!

@hilsy85: Yeah I guess my office does elective inductions after 39 weeks. But even though I was 39 weeks yesterday he didn't say anything about it. I didn't push it though because I know it would be way better to go into labor naturally. He also asked me if I was sleeping good and how I was feeling and I told him I was actually sleeping really well and don't have any swelling (I think I'm just lucky) and since I'm feeling really good I don't think he wanted to induce either.

  26. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@BelugaBean: I'm on the east coast! I'll only be 38 weeks tomorrow so I'm guessing still too early for anything much to happen. I will have my doctor try to strip my membranes on Friday, so we'll see if that does anything

@renee0106: that's great that you're feeling so well! FX it happens on its own soon.

@2littlepumpkins: Hm my boobs don't feel tingly or sore, but if I squeeze them I definitely get some colostrum. totally normal I think.

@BelugaBean: I'm on the East Coast!

It's today or bust as I'm getting induced tomorrow at 7am, 10 days past due date!!

@hellobeeboston: oh man, you have been patient! I am sure that if you do make it til tomorrow, the induction will go really smoothly. Are you trying anything crazy today or just waiting it out?

  31. NovBaby1112

    grapefruit / 4066 posts

@2littlepumpkins: I hope you go this weekend and don't have to worry about it! I feel the same- I feel SO low, like it hurts to even walk! I don't know how this baby isn't just popping out

@BelugaBean: interesting! I'm on the east coast! Believe it or not I'm actually hoping I don't go into labor until at least Sat night, bc we have so much going on the next few days and logistically it would just be easier if it happened after Saturday, so we'll see..

@hellobeeboston: eeek!! well at least you know it'll happen soon! since you are already 3cm I bet it'll go great! I hope J is feeling better!!

  32. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@hilsy85: I have been shocked at my patience to be honest!! No, not doing anything unusual, can't walk as much today because of the rain, but I've been walking a ton each day.... I'm hoping I've dilated even a bit more than 3cm as I have had a lot of pains and cramps the last couple days, so hoping the induction will be OK. J is still sick poor dude
@NovBaby1112: thx! And same! I've been walking over a mile and at the end my bottom half feels like it's going to fall off from all of the pressure!!!

@hellobeeboston: good luck tomorrow!! Sounds like your body is ready and things should go quickly !

I had my 40w apt today...I'm "1+"...she said cervix was very favourable for labor so it could be any time. she also did a "good sweep" which was not very comfortable. I have an induction appointment with the specialist scheduled for Tuesday where they will do an ultrasound, NST etx and decide whether to induce then or let me go a few more days. She did say to bring all my bags and go right to L&D on Tuesday so I'm hopeful that will be eviction day if I don't go naturally before then. It's nice to have an end in sight!

So checkup today - 1 cm dialated (boo) but very thin membrane. She did a sweep and said if it works to expect my water to break in the next 1-2 days. I think DH is freaking out a bit lol

FX this baby gets going soon!

@Charm54: that's good at least you have an end date, but hopefully you go sooner!! so exciting!

@babycanuck: eeek! that's exciting! I hope the sweep worked for you!

I had my 39 week appointment- 3cm dilated, still 60% effaced and -2 station. Feeling super crampy right now after that check!
