How is your parenting morale right now?
Mine is ok, not great. I keep forgetting on weekends that my son loves to be hugged and held - especially when we travel. After two days of my forgetfulness, he got upset and felt unloved... and said some hurtful things. Still getting over some of the things he said yesterday!
My daughter is still pretty nice to me though, so I felt better after putting her down last night.

We are staying with my parents right now so I feel a little watched and judged when it comes to my parenting skills. I am pretty confident that I know my LO and how to handle her but it is hard not to second guess when you are in the presence of older, wiser parents!

Eh, I've been taking everything personally, which is so not useful with an 8 month old baby. Like I feel like her cranky days are my fault, so low morale right now. Need a boost!

Do you punish him for saying hurtful things to you? I am not sure what I would do about that but I don't think it's good for you that he does that is what I'm getting at and maybe that should be nipped in the bud soon.

We're doing great right now. L is in a great place (just got over some MAJOR separation anxiety), and we're all pretty happy and satisfied right now. I know this won't last forever so I'm really trying to savour it.

@Raindrop: We've tried everything, but what's worked best for us is to just make sure he feels loved. We can go weeks without problems as long as I make sure that we're speaking his love language!

My LO is 2 1/2 and we are feeling it right now. She's pretty good most of the time, and always for other people, but for DH and I, she's full of "NO!" We try to give her choices as much as we can, but it still gets frustrating and results in time-outs which aren't fun for any of us.

This weekend left me feeling so defeated and exhausted. It was a tough weekend with the kids - they were both so defiant and honestly, just crazy. And I feel like they rile each other up.
Of course this morning, they were in the best moods! Just when the weekend ended.

Good! The babe is 4 months. We got her out of our room in the RNP and into her crib over the holiday weekend. She even slept thru fireworks. BF is going really well- it was tough until about 10 weeks. I feel like we are finding our groove/routine as a family. I think sleeping well makes my mood/morale 60% better.

We had a rough few weeks at the beginning of camp, it was really killing me in terms of solutions.
Just as it started, it stopped and we're back to "normal."

Truth be told, I'm at an all time low right now. DD's sleep is terrible, her eating is terrible and when I'm not working or commuting, I'm dealing with her whining or screaming. I'm completely exhausted and completely fed up.

I'm flagging a little... LO is getting all four canines and has just learnt the word no, it's bloody hot and I'm 6 weeks PG. We've had better moments!

Eh, it's back down with a newborn. I mean, he's awesome, and it's way easier than LO1, but the exhaustion and feeling like i can't (temporarily) be the kind of parent I like to be with LO1 is getting me down a bit. I know it'll pay off, though, and LO1 has been crazy independent lately, which has been awesome to watch.

DD has been spending lots of time with Daddy over the weekend while I take it easy and try to not go into labour. I guess it really got to her as yesterday when I left to go for pre-baby pedi with a friend, she cried and told DH in her saddest ever voice "mummy doesn't want to play with me anymore" . Now feeling awful about not being able to give her the attention she needs right now.
