What do you guys do for party favors? Where do you buy them? My daughter's 4th birthday is in a couple weeks and this is the first time we have done party favors (last year we just gave kids a peppa pig book). Would love ideas. We are having Rapunzal come to our party so it's a bit of a princess theme but we have a couple of boys coming too so don't want all princessy/girly favors.

We did cute drawstring backpacks that I found on Amazon and stuffed with tattoos, bubbles, individual packs of goldfish, an apple sauce pouch, and a foam mask. I found everything on Amazon. It was Dino themed but stuff like that can be customized to any theme!
My kids are partial to the goody bag, but it’s definitely more junk then a single item.

Im not partial to those little trinkets that come in goody bags. I had a local baker make cute cookies and Rice Krispie treats individually wrapped in the theme of the party and sent those in a bag home.

We’ve only done one actual party so far, but for a ballerina 4th bday party I did tutus and capes as party favors. I bought packs on amazon and let the kids choose which the wanted (which I realize could have ended badly if we didn’t have enough of one or the other but worked out!). The capes were the bigger hit for boys and girls.

We recently did superhero masks and capes for my son’s 4th birthday and they were a huge hit with boys and girls. We got 8 packs from Amazon and they worked out to about $3 each.

I raid the dollar store. For DS1's summer party at a park I got little sand pails with shovels, bubbles and chalk, all for about $2 per kid. They also have little puzzles, playdough kits, cars, kites, bug catcher kits, princess gear. It's crazy.

@Alexandra603: I would do a paint set - you can get watercolors from the $1 store - add a ribbon and a thank you and its perfect for boys and girls

Honestly, I've never done anything for any of my kids' parties or the wedding/baby showers I've thrown but I'm probably a party favor grump.

We did beanie-boos at my daughter's 5th birthday party. They were $5 each at party city, and I figured I'd end up about $5 a kid with other items anyway. I tried to get a mix of dragons, fish, bears, and unicorns because there were an equal nbr of boys and girls, but everyone wanted unicorns, even the boys, so I returned most of the other non-unicorns after the party (30 day return policy with receipt, fyi).

@Alexandra603: we have done dipped pretzels, and this year we did mini pies. I must say I do prefer one thing over a bag full of little things

Honestly, whatever you end up giving is fine...don't stress too much about what other parents think about the favors.
In the kids circle, the best party bags seem to be the ones that are loaded up with the small trinket things. My son loves that kind of gift bag, so if you want to please the kids, go with the novelty stuff.
At my son's last party I gave out 3 packs of glitter chalk and a deck of uno cards and it seemed like the kids didn't care about it at all, hahaha!

We did Dino egg bath bombs from Etsy this year and they were a big hit!
