If you have personalized Christmas stockings, does yours have your first name or Mom/Dad?

Ours are hand made needlepoint ones from MIL- dhs is from when he was a baby, mine she did after we got married. So yeah- first names!

I ordered ours after we had our first child, but I still used our first names.

i think i will go with our first names. I think i will like that better the kids are grown up and we still have our stockings. And even now, i like it because i grew up with my first name on my stocking as a child. my parents never had stockings though, only me and my sister! so i was wondering the same thing too at first.

Each stocking at my house growing up was handmade by my mom and instead of names, everyone has a Christmas symbol and were quilted with different, but coordinating colored fabrics. For example, each year my mom would get us a new ornament that was our symbol as well... So my sister's stocking was an angel, mine was Santa Claus, and my brother's was a train. Mom has a stocking with a snowman on it, and my dad's had a Christmas tree.

Ours doesn't have our names, just initials. But it's our first name initials.

I prefer first names. Like I said on another thread recently, nobody who calls me Mama is filling my stocking for the next couple of decades! I like that Christmas brings out the kid in all of us, and I've always been on Santa's list by first name. It's how he knows me!

Mom & Dad. For us it's about family and that's how we will be known even when our kids are adults. Hence why we didn't do mommy and daddy. When our kids are 27, they won't be calling us mommy and daddy! And we're just not OK with them calling us by our first names.

I'm getting new ones this year for the family. I plan to put my 1st names for DH and I. I never even thought to put mom and dad. I guess when someone asks my name, I don't say mama or mom.

I made stockings and then bought pretty brass letter ornaments from west elm that I hang on the same hook. First letter of each persons name!
