@winniebee: he is doing pretty well. He is off his blood pressure meds completely (yey!) and they are just trying to tweak some meds and his dialysis to maximize his fluid output and keep his blood pH and oxygen levels where they need to be. He is pretty heavily sedated, but opened his eyes and looked around a bit this morning, which is great to see. Overall we are just chugging along. Hoping he keeps being good for us

@snowjewelz: Thanks, I am doing ok. His stable days really help me feel better about him coming home one day. We sent LO1 to Gma and Gpa's house today for the week, which will help too. I'll miss her like crazy, but it will be better for her and us for now, giving us time to focus on Charlie and ourselves a bit more. Poor DH is a mess and needs the break.

Things have been rocky here since my last update, with his status going up and down every day or so. One day he will be super stable and allowed to wake up a little, the next his oxygen levels and blood pressure will drop dramatically, forcing them to put him back on paralytics and pump him full of fluids. This is all due to his heart being stressed out by his defect and has really hindered any progress made on pulling the excess fluids off of his little body, making it seem like a never ending waiting game to get to his heart surgery. Finally the doctors decided yesterday that we are not making progress by waiting any longer and scheduled his heart surgery for Wednesday. Hopefully the next couple days will be very quiet for him, full of rest and progress on getting some excess fluid off so he is in the best place possible for his surgery.
Thanks again for your continued thoughts and prayers! I feel so lucky to be part of such a great community.
