I haven't updated on Charlie as he had been doing well in general, with no major changes. However, after his second failed extubation attempt on Monday, he seemed unlike himself all day yesterday (pale, higher heart rate and breathing rate, lower blood pressure, extra sleepy), then spiked a fever in the afternoon, and went into septic shock over night. He is doing better this morning, but is back on several medications to increase his blood pressure and higher ventilator support.
Thank you again everyone for continuing to think of and pray for Charlie. He is such a strong little boy, but I wish he didn't have to endure such a long road home.

I hope they get his infection cleared quickly and everything back on track soon!

@MrsScallop: Oh, poor buddy! I'm so sorry to hear this. He is a trooper, that's for sure. And so are you, lady. It's amazing what these little ones can handle. Wishing him a very strong and speedy recovery. I hope that road home ends soon.

I've been following the updates on Charlie and I'm so sorry he's had a setback. Praying for him to recover quickly and keep improving. Also praying for you and your family and for his doctors and nurses.
I hope they get his infection cleared quickly and everything back on track soon!
