We are still in the early stages (12wks) and are unaware of the babies sex obviously. My husband keeps referring to the baby as "BABY TBD" which is hysterical. Do you and your SO call the baby anything yet?

Hubs started calling her "Babu" very early on, and it has stuck. Now I also call her "Wiggle Worm" now that I can feel her kicking all the time. We also have an actual name for her, but I haven't used that much and probably won't really call her by her name until she's born.

SO and I are still in the very early stages too but we already call ours Pudge. I have a friend who calls her bub "Pea Mash" which I adore. =)

We still don't know the baby's sex so we started calling ours LD cause next year is the year of the dragon and the baby is our "little dragon".

We call it by the fruit of the week (baby size as stated on the bump). So, for example, right now DH might say "How is our little avacado doing?"

mr bee jokingly referred to charlie as baby bella or baby edward.

Ninja!
After a scare with radiation exposure early in my pregnancy, my husband joked around that our baby was a mutant ninja turtle. The name 'ninja' stuck, and I couldn't imagine calling him by another name.
P.S. He turned out just fine, and the little exposure had no effect on him.

At first it was The Little Gummybear, then The Boss when he started making me throw up, The Monkey, The Boy, Baby Hoff (our last name shortened), lately it is The Monster or what we think his real name will be.

we used to call it the fruit of the week. but now, we call it baby A and baby B.

I have called her peanut from the beginning. Now that we know what we are having, and her name, we will call her by her name or "the baby". I also say "your daughter" when I want something

We called him/her Ziggy (the Zygote in the very beginning), then after the second ultrasound we started calling him/her Ziggly Wiggly, because it was bouncing around so much. Now it seems like he/she is going to be large, because it is measuring big all the time, so we are starting to refer to him/her as Piggly Wiggly.

Frances/Francis. We didn't know the gender, and that's a name that sounds masculine and feminine. No idea where I got that from.
persimmon / 1135 posts
We started out with just "the baby". Lately, since we know it's a boy, we refer to him as a different (generally ridiculous) name each time. We still haven't settled on what his actual name will be, so I guess it's just like trying out different ones to see if anything fits.

I love some of the names you are using! I am mostly calling the baby by what BabyCenter says it's size is this week. Right now - our little lemon.

We call the baby a joking name based on our last name...for example if our last name was Johnson, it would be Johnny. We tell people very seriously that we are considering this name for the baby (and it's more unisex based on our real last name) and a few people have actually believed us and tried to pretend they think it's a nice name.

We started off with Tater Tot, then it became Tater. We also adopted the name The Stig or Stiggy (a reference to the British TV show Top Gear... their pro driver is an unknown person who is always in full racing gear and helmet, you never find out his identity/name/face).

We called her Baby Bear. We call each other Mama and Papa Bear because we snore, so it's only right baby be Baby Bear.LOL

Well our baby has arrived already but we used to call him buoy. As in a buoy in the water. Long story short my husband has always wanted a boat and my response was "babies before boats" ... so this baby was our little buoy on the way to getting the boat.

we call our baby Lemon because we love martinis with a twist.
We also sometimes call it the "tiny tyrant" when I'm feel especially like caca. I'll go "ugh I don't feel good!!!" and my husband will say "tiny tyrant acting up again?"

I called our baby Poppy when she was in the womb. I'm not sure why - just totally random.
@yoursilverlining: I love "tiny tyrant"! I may have to adopt that nickname for my 6 week old when she is acting crazy

Until we knew we were having a girl, we referred to her as Timbit. I recently posted about this on my blog actually. In real life we now call her by her real name most of the time, but online she'll remain Timbit for now, and once she's born she'll be dubbed something else for the blog, I just don;t know what yet. Maybe she'll stay Timbit?

I'm 14 wks and we still refer to the baby as "baby" or "it". Not very creative!!

My goddaughter was Speck, as in expecting (I forget her older brother's womb name - youngest didn't have one), and a cousin's unborn baby is Pickle. My nephew was Monkey (his mom adores monkeys, for the record.) I'm thinking we'll have Munchkin.

I called her all sorts of things. We were team green so we didn't know gender. Sometimes we called her "it" (which I hated)...other times she was my parasite, aliem, wiggle monster, raspberry, etc.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
We still call ours 'sticky baby' - it started when we first found out we were pregnant and were hoping it would be a sticky one, and now at nearly 11 weeks, it's still being referred to as 'sticky baby'. We're Team Green so it may just remain sticky baby until it makes its arrival!

@L2sweetpea: I like the idea of Raspberry! Husband's favorite food.

Blueberry stuck in the beginning when he was about that size, and we eventually shortened it to blue, which we used a lot. We also referred to him as fetus a lot, lol.

I just call it bebe2. I know for my first we called it HE/SHE (until we knew the sex, obviously)

My husband has a hard time being serious when we discuss potential baby names, and the one silly name that stuck was "Sneakers." So, for now, Sneakers it is!
grapefruit / 4049 posts
I can't remember what we called our first... I think we used "fetus" alot until we knew the gender/name.
our second was called "2.0", "baby 2.0" or "version 2.0"... This especially stuck for the entire pregnancy because I was Team Green and we didn't totally decide on possible names until after she arrived. She's 4 months now and we occasionally still call her that

Lil munchkin. I'm still really early on and it'll probably change in a few weeks.

We've had Moose and Wombat. Next, we'll have another animal just because it's fun.
