It was between 17-18wks when I was sure I knew what I was feeling was movement. I guess I might have felt it a little sooner if I knew, which I guess is why people say they feel #2 sooner.

@illumina: that early on what does it feel like? i feel like i'll end up thinking that i'm feeling movement when i really have gas or something

It's hard to remember! Especially once you get used to feeling big kicks and movement later on Though I remember reading early movement feels like gas or like a goldfish swimming around...but it definitely didn't resemble either of those! I think it felt more like a little muscle spasm in one precise place.

#1 was 15 weeks and it was a one time major barrel roll, but not regularly until the early 20's. #2 was 10 weeks with tiny nudges, but not regularly until 15 weeks. It helped to know what I was looking for.
It was super fun for the first pregnancy and one of the things I missed most, they are mostly uncomfortable for the second, but I really appreciate them for peace of mind.
It's funny because I'll think about it, realize I haven't felt baby kick in a while, then shortly after I feel him. It's uncanny!

18w3d. It felt like a light, rhythmic tapping in my lower abdomen. I didn't feel anything again for several days, though, and I was probably 22-23 weeks before I could feel her most days.

I think it was right around the 16th week when I knew it was baby because it happened out of the blue. I was standing while chatting with some friends and suddenly I felt a crazy flutter... A very fast thump like feeling. I didn't really feel it again though until around week 19. By then it was a little more consistent. The best part of feeling baby move, is those couple of weeks when ONLY YOU can feel baby. You will feel baby before anyone else from the outside because the kicks aren't strong enough for the outside feel. You will probably feel like the baby is tumbling in there!

I remember the date exactly because it was Christmas! It was 15w5d and I thought it was a spasm, but it kept coming back.

I think I was 24-25 weeks. I had an anterior placenta, so it was later than usual.

@illumina: spot on! I always described it to my husband as a muscle spam like feeling. Except its magical because you know it's not a spasm lol

I voted 16 but it was actually 17. little flutterings . . . I wasn't sure whether it was baby until a week or so later when it progressed, but was still the same general feeling.
I remember my OB telling me at my 18 week that I probably wasn't really feeling the baby. but I think she was wrong!

I didn't vote because my week wasn't on there, but it was around 18 weeks. I started to feel little 'pops' in my belly.

I voted 20 because I remember telling the ultrasound tech that I thought I felt something but wasn't sure. Those were very subtle movements. Real movement like I knew for sure it was the baby was more around 22/23 weeks. But I think I had an anterior placenta which delayed me feeling him.

16 weeks exactly, it felt like a twitch in my low belly, I was pretty sure it was baby and then when I started feeling her more I knew that was what it had been. It wasn't until probably 19 weeks that I started feeling a few movements more regularly and when I knew for sure I was feeling baby move.

I had an anterior placenta, so it was later. I will say 20ish weeks, I think any "movement" before that was gas pains.

I had a anterior placenta so I didn't feel her till post 20 weeks.

I started to feel SOMETHING, just movement not kicks, the last few days of week 16. It wasn't until like 20 weeks that I felt her every day, and it was later than that when I felt like I was getting real kicks rather than just rolling movement.

I also have an anterior placenta, so around 20 weeks. I think I thought I felt something at 19, but it was for sure around 21. DH didn't feel baby until 25!

Around 18 weeks I felt like something was brushing up against me except from the inside. Took awhile longer though to feel her regularly, and dh just felt her for the first time last week at 26 weeks
