Private. I was enthusiastic about home schooling but fell in love with a local spanish immersion private program. (They also have mandarin and french but spanish is our first choice.) The school is preK-8th so I don't know what we will do for HS.

Public. Our assigned schools are pretty good (and we live in a part of our district where reassignment isn't usually much of a concern, thankfully).

My don was on a private school second through fourth, we didn't like how cliquey it was. He's been at a charter school since fifth grade, he's in seventh now. He does much better there. Our public schools are not great.

Public for elementary. I'm not sure about the rest because NYC has these weird dezoned application systems for high school and middle school can be quite similar.

public. we partly picked the area we live in because of the good public schools, and we certainly pay a premium in high housing costs and local taxes, so we're going public!

Public for now. We'll see where we move in the future and what schools are around.

Public. I want to support public schools, and the best way I know how is to send my children there.

Public. We chose a house in this school district for that reason. Both DH and I went to public schools, and in our area, there is more opportunity and diversity within the public schools.

Absolutely public. We bought a house in a exceptional school district, and pay higher taxes because of it. Growing up I went to public, private, and charter schools, and I believe that the education I received at the public schools was the best.

If we lived in an area with bad public schools, we might reconsider. I would probably look at "school of choice" options first, to see if I could elect a superior nearby public school, before going with private or charter though.

Public if we stay where we are. My state doesn't have charter schools and there are not any great private options either!
