Do you have an idea of what type of school your child will go to (or currently goes to) when they are school-age?
Our daughter will probably go to private school.

Likely public, unless there is severe overcrowding and he isn't able to go to his zoned school, or we feel that he has special needs best suited for private.

Our child will probably go to public school. We have very nice public schools. I would like to consider Catholic school since I had a good experience but my husband is very hesitant since he had a bad experience.

Charter is our first choice, but admission is a lottery system. Public school would be our second choice.

Completely up in the air. We aren't sure if we will stay in our city, which has some decent schools but some crap ones, and is a lottery to see what school you get into anyway, or move to a suburb with excellent schools. So rigt now we are open to any of the three, depending on where we are.

Likely a private school for elementary years, and then a public school for high school.

More than likely public but we are considering the local catholic school.

As long as we are in our neighborhood, he'll go to public school. We chose the area we live because the schools are very good.

Not sure. Our public school has 100 kids in Kindegarden, the charter school has 13. Not sure which is better.

Depends on his needs - public if he still needs special ed services, maybe private if he can be mainstreamed with minimal support.

Charter is our first option (right now), not sure about a second option at this point. It all seems pretty grim.

Public until 5th grade. After that, we'll see. Another option I'm interested in is a dual-language charter school, but I'll have to research them more as LO gets older.

There are no local charter schools here (thought I taught at one elsewhere.) We're pretty sure public (and will move next year to get into a district we are interested in), but there is one private school we may be interested in if we don't feel public school will be a good fit.

The public elementary school for our neighborhood is directly behind our house, so it's the pretty obvious choice.

Public. Barring an extreme circumstance like blindness, deafness, or a severe mental or social disability, I would never even consider another option.

Definitely public. We wouldn't even consider private school, though. We love our zoned school and are currently looking for apartments but anything outsize of our zone is getting nixed! For high school we will look at both public and charter only because there's a really good charter school near us.

She will go to public school but we will likely try for the charter lottery when she is in high school (which is where I currently work). They typically have 200 spots and had 600 applicants.

Public. Our high school is a great one, but the elementary and junior high are meh... I think we can easily do interdistrict transfers for those, though.

We'll primarily home school the early grades and consider other options (public/charter) as they get older.

They will probably be homeschooled for the early years and then either go to a charter or a nearby STEM school with public school as an option should we not be able to get them into the charter or STEM school.
I would love for them to go to private school like I did for a few years but I know that we will never be able to afford it.

Voted other - private catholic school from pre k through 12
I grew up in an area where public schools were awful. Where I live now, they are better but I still like the environment that comes with going to catholic school.

Well, if we stay here and I continue to work at a private school and we can afford it he will go to the school I teach at. Only because I think it is the best school for him. They do PE every day and have very small class sizes. They are implementing a technology and engineering program (and he a little computer scientist).
For the new baby we will have to see how she is. I suspect she will thrive in public school or home schooled.
All of my kids will be in alternative schools (charter, home or private) for middle school.
