I had a daycare teacher tell me that my girls are happy, friendly, life loving kids. That they are just living "the life".

The same teacher also gave me the comment of it's a shame your kids don't have cute clothes to wear, *wink*.

My daycare is good for my parenting ego.

My DD is 8 months old, and has been on 7 flights in the past 3 months, due to a family emergency and subsequent death. She only cried once for under a minute on the last flight, because she was so tired.

Additionally, throughout the whole process, she was everyone's light - she handled unpredictable naps, lots of people holding her, and lots of traveling around (houses, restaurants, funeral home, church, etc.), without fuss.
She was a great comfort to everyone, and not an added stress.

I'm the luckiest and proudest Mama on earth!

The YMCA childcare director pulled me aside and said E brought so much joy to the class. She shared a story of when a girl was too shy to join their game so E went over and took her hand and invited her to join. oh my heart.

DS is 15 months. He makes me proud because he enjoys books so much. He would rather pull books off the shelves and have us read to him than play with his toys most of the time. He is also is good at helping to clean up and put away his toys and messes.

This actually happened in the beginning of the summer, but it still makes me smile when I think about it.

We were on the playground and there was a little girl with an ice cream cone in one hand and a small box of dots candy in the other. Her mom asked her if she'd like her to hold her dots while she ate her ice cream cone and the girl said, "YES!" but she was so enthusiastic about it she shook the box of dots and they all fell out on the ground. She then tried to bend down to pick them up but didn't have a free hand. DS ran over to the girl. I thought for sure he was going to pick up the dots and eat them, but before I could say anything he picked up the dots one by one and put them back in her box.

I am proud of how adaptable Dd1 is. She has never struggled with joining new classes, starting new schools, separating for the children's ministry at church, etc., even when she was younger. This week, I sent her to a new half day camp because it was free, her school's summer session is done, and I wanted to occupy her time. I was worried she would have trouble adjusting since she didn't know any children there, but she had a blast and impressed all the counselors as a result! When I said bye to her on the first day, I was about to give her my usual reminder. She cut me off and said "I know, I know, mama always comes back! Don't worry, I think I'll have fun." And off she went! Proud mama

LO is so good at making up her own jokes as she has a keen sense of humor and a contagious laugh. I LOVE comedy and she is great at word play. OK this is a corny joke but it is my baby and she is being creative so I love it! What is a sheep's favorite fruit? A baaaaanana!

We took DS to a festival last weekend and they had a ton of carnival rides. He was just tall enough to go on the kiddie rides, even though he's only 2. I was afraid he might get scared but he was so brave! He rode the race cars, train, helicopters, and motorcycles!
