I did a few times with my DS (but felt a little silly) but with this one, I just read to DS! I assume DS#2 will hear it too!

I never read to my belly. Baby hears you talk all day long. To a fetus reading a story is no different than listening to you in a work meeting.

I didn't. But I talked to him a lot and he heard my voice plenty when I was teaching too.

Nope. Same thing as @Truth Bombs: ! Even when LO was a little baby we didn't start reading right away (although it can be beneficial), but we talked to her all the time! Her verbal skills have been above her age group for a long time. Hopefully it'll be the same with her brother. He at least gets the benefit of hearing his sister's favorite stories many times over!

I never did read to my belly. DH did occasionally talk to it, though.

Same as @travellingbee: I read to DS and figure DD can listen as well. I do talk to her sometimes, especially when I feel a lot of movement.

I never did when I was pregnant with my first. I think I'd feel silly! But I read to my two girls so I'm sure the baby is listening in.

Ok, it looks like I'm not behind on starting.
I was trying to figure out what I should read...

I never read to my belly ... I talk all the time, and you really just sound all muffled to them anyways!

I thought I would, but I haven't once at 34 weeks. I talk to her though... So at least there is that !

I'm a teacher, so baby gets to hear me read to my students! We (fetus and I) also listen to a lot of audio books together.

My husband read to LO/belly a lot. I never read to her, but I talk to myself a lot, so I figured she heard me talking all day anyway

I never read to my belly with my first, but I did sometimes talk to her in the car when I was alone. This time, I'm reading to the toddler all the time so this baby gets to hear that too. And lots and lots of singing (this baby may come out knowing the words to most of Daniel Tiger's little songs).

No I never did. But I'm a second grade teacher so DD heard me read lots of stories to them haha. Now this one hears me to read to DD

I like to! I've been a teacher so I'm very literacy oriented.
Also, just read about a study where they compared reading in the womb and rubbing your belly and it said reading is good, and rubbing your belly skin to skin is also good, it stimulates the baby and creates a prenatal bond.

I don't (because he hears my voice all the time) but DH does a few times a week. If not read, he'll talk to the baby for a bit. The other night he told the baby the story of how we met, it was super cute!

I always had DH read since baby heard me all the time. It was a nice ritual, we'd read a story every night before bed.

I think DH read to baby belly #1 a few times. This time, not at all. He absorbs via my reading to his big bro

Starting around 30 weeks, DH liked to read the same short story every night to LO in the womb (I think he thought she'd "like" the story after she was born). Needless to say, she hates that story and always has.

@Truth Bombs: Agreed. I would feel so silly reading to my belly. LO hears me talk all day long!

I'm 29 weeks and haven't done any reading to the baby. But I do talk a lot. And my husband does too. At this point, I figure the baby can't tell what we're saying, so we just have normal conversation. And even once baby's born I'll probably hear whatever book I happen to be reading, not baby books, until they can start to understand things.
