When/ if, did you get a baby belly? Like big enough for people to tell you were pregnant? I am 16w 4 days and I thought i was getting the start to a belly and got excited, but its not really there! I am afraid I am never going to get a real belly and am going to miss out on that part of pregnancy!

I'm normally a size 12/14 and am wondering about this as well. I can tell a difference, but wondering when my "bump" will be obvious to other people.

Yeah I am a 16/18 so it just looks like I gained weight in my tummy!! I want a bump that doesnt look like a roll!

I was a size 14 before getting pregnant, and my bump started looking like a bump around 23 weeks. Before that it just looked like flab that kept getting flabbier. Now at 30 weeks it's definitely a baby bump.

@cheert16: I wear a 10/12 and some people at work think I am showing, family says I have a little bump, but they know I am pregnant. We had dinner with friends on Sat and they were shocked I was wearing maternity jeans since they didn't think I was showing. I think I am but I still haven't popped yet. I am 18w3d.

I'm a 16/18 too and I was wondering the same thing. I did read that what you wear can have a big effect on whether you look pg or have the coveted "D" belly verus a "B" belly. I haven't tried these out (still TTC) but the suggestion I found were to wear full panel maternity pants, maternity leggings and more fitted shirts with the ties under your chest.

I am a 14/16 and I started showing around week 21 (at least, that's when I felt like I had a big enough "bump" for weekly belly photos!). Here's what I looked like at 21 and 29 weeks.

I was a size 18 before pregnancy. I was noticeably showing at about 25 weeks.

I think I kind of showed at 18 weeks, but more obviously at 25ish weeks.
As a positive plus size note... I lost 15 lbs at the beginning of my pregnancy, gained it all back +4. I'm 11 days postpartum today and I'm down 30 lbs! I'm amazed... And while I know everyone's different, and I'm not trying to brag. I was just so worried about weight gain at the beginning. I am hoping ill be able to keep it up! -

Here is me today! And as of today I've gained no weight. -
I was about 14/16 pre-pregnancy. I didn't look obviously pregnant until maybe 26-27 weeks (so the beginning of the third trimester). I did not get any comments from strangers until I was 33 weeks exactly. My weight gain has been minimal (10-12 pounds at 37 weeks), so I'm not sure if that contributed to it.

I'm not even pregnant (still TTC) and I'm already showing!!! I'm a UK 16 (US 18) and I hold all my weight around my belly! My plan is to switch to maternity clothes and start cradling my belly at around 12 weeks = instant "showing". Lol!

I am SO glad I found this thread! One of my biggest fears getting pregnant is just looking fatter and not really having the bump! I have been up and down with my weight and was really sad when I was a 7/9 that I didn't get pregnant. I wanted that baby bump that all the "skinny"girls have.
I am currently a 16/18 and when my husband sees other plus size pregnant woman he will say OH MY...(as in oh my she is big) I just give him the stink eye. He doesn't view me as "fat" and has always loved me no matter what size I am. One of my fears is that once I am pregnant my husband will look at me and say OH MY... you know what I mean?

@Sugar.Biscuit: I felt the same way. Don't worry about that. My husband actually wont keep his hands off of me lol The belly expansion already hasn't made a bit of difference to him.
If I'm not wearing maternity pants I don't look pregnant but just bigger. Maternity pants are our friends lol -
I didn't gain any weight with my pregnancy, so I felt like I didn't show for a long time. I was just swapping baby for fat
Here is the first picture where I felt like I looked pregnant from about 16 weeks and then the last one I have from about a week before I gave birth. (I wore a UK 20 in maternity clothes. That's a US 16 or 18.) -
@cheert16: I'm so glad you started this thread! Most of the ladies who post bump photos on the other thread are teeny tiny. They all look great, but so do the mamas here! I'm not pregnant yet, but I'm a 16/18 and I definitely worry about what my bump will look like.

i think it all depends on how you're shaped. i was 12/14 before pregnancy, and i think i've looked pregnant-ish since 16 or 17 weeks. i'm 23 weeks now, and it's very obvious to strangers. i am short with a short torso, so i kind of expanded outwards. also, when i gain wait, it's usually in my belly first.

This has been something I have been constantly thinking about. I was an 18/20 before but I had a B belly (I love that I actually found a term to describe it..online of course. lol)My tummy started to stick out around 18 weeks but I still have not rounded out. I have gained 12 lbs and my upper tummy is very round and sticks out like it should but my lower belly has not caught up yet so I now say I have a P belly. The full panel pants help and so do empire waist shirts. But I cant wait to have a D belly I really hope it rounds out! I am so jealous of the round D bellies.

I would say by 20 weeks you could definitely tell I was pregnant, as long as I wore the right clothes. My "B" belly went away shortly after that. Babydoll tops were definitely my friend! lol. I was a size 18 pre pregnancy. Here are a few pics at 20 weeks, 24 weeks, 28 weeks and 34 weeks. I delivered at 37 weeks. And there were so no photos being taken of me at the end! lol.

Pre-pregnancy I was a size 18, and I'm tall. I started to show (in my mind) at like 5 months. (first picture)
Second picture was a few days before I delivered, and some people were still afraid to ask me if I was pregnant, but I felt very pregnant.

I'm really enjoying this thread! I'm a size 14, and I already look 4 months pregnant. Someone asked DH if I was pregnant the other day.
As soon as I get knocked up, I'm just going to act like the fat is a baby!

I'm not plus size, but I have a good amount of belly fat. I could tell a difference at 9 weeks, and I started showing it off at around 14 weeks. For the first time since I'd gained the weight I was proud of my stomach! I showed that thing off like crazy.

Prepregnancy I was an 18/20. Right now I am 29 1/2 weeks pregnant. Previous posters who said that it's all about what you wear are spot on. I still get people who tell me that I don't look pregnant at all.

I'm most definitely a B belly, have been nearly all my life!
This was my most recent pic at 13 weeks. My regular belly fat just looks, well, fatter. But a wee bit pointy!

@DANIELLEMYBELLE lol I know what you mean! I so have a prepregnacy bump! Especially when I wear my yoga pants! They are just so much more comfy over the B bump that it makes a D!

@Sugar.Biscuit: @cheert16: Oh you ladies are too sweet! I ended up gaining 75 pounds!!!! There is a reason no pictures exsist of me after 34 weeks. It got really ugly at the end. lol. I lost 35 pounds the week after delivering and at 15 weeks out I am 15 pounds away from pre-pregnancy weight. Not bad all things considered and goes to show you that sometimes your body does what it wants to do . I was barely eating those last few weeks and packing on the pounds like crazy.

I think you guys all look great :). And it is really nice to see pics of people closer to my size. I love the baby bump threads, but I don't think it's all that realistic for what I can expect to look like, considering most of those girls are like 5 sizes smaller than me.
As soon as I get knocked up, I'm just going to act like the fat is a baby!
