I love that I can usually send her when I'm sick and get a true sick day to rest and recuperate. I also love how much she is learning! She's always doing something new, and I'm not sure how much she would be learning at home. It's amazing what a little sponge she is!

I love it because my LO loves it. She cries when it's time to go home most days, and she tries to convince me on Sunday that school is open and I should take her. She loves her friends and her teachers and she loves all the fun things she gets to play and learn. She would be bored to tears at home with me all the time after experiencing day care!

DS is only 9 months but "he" made us an anniversary present... a board that says LOVE with his hand print making the O, and footprints making the V. It was sooo cute!
I also love that daycare allows him to be social, so we can pass him around with family/friends and it doesn't phase him.

P.S. Great idea for a post! It is sooo hard to start daycare!

Okay, so my LO isn't in daycare yet but I am already dreading it 4 months in the future. I love that our daycare provider is a retired preschool teacher and that the kids see her as a grandmother figure.

Daycare is SO GOOD for LO. We love, love, love our school so much. They give her an outlet for her boundless energy, teach her how to socialize, help her eat a wide variety of foods, and helped put her on a schedule. She needs routine, and I am bad at that. We have no family here, and they have become a critical support system for us.

Also, being at home with her for long stretches of time makes us both crazy. She was just out for a week, and I was about to Lose. My. Mind. She stood on her dinner chair, climbed into a basket on her Ikea chair, grabbed a knife out of the butcher block when I set her on the counter, pulled out every single toy she owned, and whined all bleeping night long. As everyone on IG could tell you, I had a serious countdown to school going on last night!

These are so exciting to read about and gives me so much hope that DD will be okay attending daycare. DD and the new baby sister (arriving in Jan) will most likely be going to daycare in March 2016.

I love how much his teachers love him. I drop him off knowing that he is being watched after by people who care about his happiness as much as I do.

I'm absolutely certain that he is learning WAY more in daycare than he would home with me or with a grandparent.

He socializes really well, and has no problem being around new people.

I love all the crafts he makes. They expose him to art and music and play that I would never have thought of.

I love our daycare because the teachers are great and really care about all the kids, LO loves all her friends and is constantly talking about them, she gets a music lesson every day and it is really rubbing off already (she sings constantly), and she gets healthy food all day which she actually eats. Our daycare is also Montessori, which wasn't something I was actively looking for, but now that we are in it, I really like most of the principles. LO learns new things every day and is constantly surprising me.

E thrives in his daycare (he just moved up to the preschool room). He wakes up in the morning telling us what a great day he's going to have at preschool, and on the drive home, during dinner and bath, and while we're cuddling before bed he loves to tell me about his friends, and what he ate, and what he played with. He insists on visiting his old classroom every afternoon to hug his old teachers and his old friends that are still there. His vocabulary has exploded, he's independent...he's so happy there, and as much as I love him, he's so much better there than he was at home with me.

they did such a good job of feeding the kids.. would even warm food in the oven and not the microwave!

just everything was awesome. the socialization, the art projects, the fun!

He eats the majority of food that he eats at daycare!
His carers love him and he loves them. He comes home every day (literally) with a new word or a new skill.

I love daycare because my kids love daycare! Xander's made some really close friends and he loves his teachers. He's also learned soooooo much and has amazing vocal skills because of daycare. He's also polite!! Always says "thank you" and says "please" a good portion of the time. And I love all the projects they do with the kids and that they get them outside a bunch during the day, even the infants.

The activities and friendships are priceless. There is absolutely no way I would be able to provide that for him if I stayed home. Also I've done both daycare and nannies and the biggest reason why I prefer daycare is that I can pick him up and leave! Nannies always take too long to leave my house and I only have a few precious hours a day to spend with DS when he is awake. Once it got kind of heated when I was rushing to leave for vacation on a Friday after work and the nanny refused to leave. I had to finally snap at her! At daycare the want you OUT so they can go home.

I love picking him up! First kind of spying on him and seeing him having fun with his friends...and then when he spots me he does his biggest smile and runs for me yelling, "Mama!"

With my little one it's pretty much the same thing, but with crawling, haha.

I get to work uninterrupted and be by myself.

The socialization it offers DD and the networking it offers me.

I LOVE her teachers and it warms my heart to see how much she loves them and they love her. Her one teacher has become a dear friend of ours.

I love how each day she learns something new and surprises us. Last night she came home and was galloping...clearly a new trick she learned!

Schedule...she has a great schedule thanks to the structure there.

I could go on and on!

I love that he's on a routine/schedule and is learning so much from there. He'll come home and sing songs or say something I didn't know he knew! I love watching him grow.

I needed this! I'm struggling so much with this decision for my LO but this thread gave me all of the feels.

Oh, daycare can be such a wonderful gift!!

I just love that she brings songs and new words home. At 20 months, she's a sponge, and it's amazing to see these people fostering her development.

Then there are all of the things she doesn't bring home, but mean so much!! The teachers LOVE her, her classmates are her little friends, and I just know she loves it.
