I originally typed "satan" wrap by mistake...or was it a mistake? WHY IS SARAN WRAP SO HARD TO TEAR OFF NEATLY?! I don't understand how we have technology to clone things and send equipment to Mars but I can't buy a tube of saran wrap that tears off in a straight line and without wrapping itself around my hand. Anyone else have food storage woes?

I never even use it anymore. I either use Tupperware, zip locks, or tin foil. ,

I started using the "press n seal" instead of saran.. I can never get saran wrap to work without getting upset

Do you have a costco membership? I think the kirkland brand plastic wrap is awesome, it's thick and clings well. And the box even comes with this cool slider cutter thing instead of the tear strip. And it's like 10 bucks for all you'll need for like 5 years, lol

They have saran wrap that you can cut using a plastic sliding mechanism. (instead of the metal teeth). Have you seen those?!

That's why I use foil, almost exclusively! And even better, I bought a HUGE pack of pre-cut foil squares from Costco, and it is seriously the best thing ever. I just pull out a square or two, and voila! Easy food packaging.

I rarely use it. I'll use foil instead. Seriously plastic wrap was made to make our lives more difficult. Even the the cutting one for plastic wrap can be unmanageable.

OMG this reminds me of when DH and I had just moved in together and we were broke as a joke. I had just bought a box of the 'good' saran wrap that isn't as sticky. One of our dogs got into it and chewed the end up a little. We were so broke that I would cut the chewed end of the wrap off and kept this half mangled roll in the drawer because I didn't want to buy another one.

@artbee: It's DH's fault--he grated cheese into a container that has no lid. I wouldn't have made that mistake!
@MerryC: Nope, we don't have a membership! But that is good to know (there's a Costco like 5 mins from us)
@chopsuey119: That sounds amazing! I have seen them on the industrial sized rolls but not on the smaller ones.
DH makes fun of me when I use foil instead, but I see I'm not the only one!

I've never had an issue with saran wrap, sorry! Are you using a cheapie/generic brand? I've had issues with those. I like saran wrap so I can see what is inside, unlike foil!

Yea.... I can never get saran wrap to stay away from itself before I get to what I want to wrap. I have to put the bowl directly in front of the saran wrap box, pull the saran wrap over the bowl then tear.

@Andrea: It's the Target brand, but I've had the same problem w/the actual brand as well. I'm just not talented!

I always feel like I'm wasting more saran wrap than I need. It usually works pretty well for me though?

I think it works if you have two people holding it on either side lol
