When I visited my parents I was in a restaurant with my kids, and a dad at the next table started smoking an e-cigarette. The water vapor drifted over, and I could clearly smell apple-flavored tobacco. I did some research later, and discovered that some flavored tobaccos emit a smell (along with water vapor) when they're smoked.

I didn't say anything at the time, because I had read that e-cigarettes emit only water vapor (apparently that may not be true? But didn't know that at the time.) I wasn't thrilled about it though. If it had been a real cigarette I would've left, but because it was an e-cig I just let it slide. If he had kept smoking much longer, I would've just taken the kids on a walk outside while we waited for our food to arrive.

If someone smoked an e-cigarette near you, would that bother you? What if it was near your kids?
