What were your favorite clothing pieces in the early days or nursing? I'm not a big fan of the traditional empire-waist nursing tops, but the ease of access can't be beat.
Last time I basically lived in a few of the Gillian O'Malley nursing tank tops from Target, but I felt SO frumpy and really want to try a bit harder this time! I think I'll try some more cute button-ups and flowy tops, but would love to hear what you wore. Specific brands or item suggestions are great, too!

I need help too! So far I've been just wearing the same nursing tanks and a zip up sweatshirt or cardigan, because she is still nursing so often (6 weeks today). I plan to get a few more button up shirts, flannel and cotton. But so far I'm just very frumpy! (Plus regular pants don't fit yet but I prefer stretchy ones anyway).

Regular clothes. I just lifted them up. So nothing that was way too tight or anything but I really didn't like the look of nursing clothes.

@Mrs. Champagne: oh yeah- aside from my nursing tanks, nothing was "nursing". For some reason most of them are also maternity- thanks but I wanted to stop looking pregnant after the baby was born!

I wear regular tops and lift up. So they just have to be loose enough to do that. I usually wear a tank that I can pull down underneath +/- a nursing bra.

Button up shirts, either the whole way or half way. Same way with dress. I found a lot of stuff from Target, ON, Gap, etc that are regular clothes.

@Mrs. Champagne: @JenGirl: I tried to wear some regular clothes once they fit ok, but that took a while. I ended up wearing a few of my maternity tees, but I was SO ready to have those out of rotation. This time I'm hoping to buy a few new pieces to avoid that!

I went to H&M and looked for buttoned shirts, then I wore tanks under them. I converted several regular tanks to wear with nursing bras. I didn't like just lifting up my shirt when we were out, so I'd try to plan ahead. Buttoned shirts were my go-to for a long time. They don't even have to be buttoned all the way do, I got a henley with snaps halfway down that worked well.
ETA: I did have to buy some new shirts for nursing because my bust size was different so a lot of my old fitted shirts didn't fit for at least 6 months.

@fussygal: Yeah, several of my maternity clothes have stayed on as nursing tops, but I've been able to supplement with loose tops from my regular wardrobe.

@brownepiano: I was also not totally comfortable lifting my regular shirts in public - especially in those first few weeks! Henleys are a great idea!

If your having a winter baby, flannel is still really in style. That's an easy over-a-tank shirt too. I didn't buy anything specifically nursing because they all looked contoured and expensive!

I'm mostly still wearing maternity tanks (Liz Lange ones from Target). They are long, and the neckline is stretchy enough to pull down, so I pull up whatever shirt I'm wearing on top and pull down the tank.

Just regular clothes (separates) with undercover mama tanks. I wear them everyday
