I went to visit my parents for the week and brought along our Baby Bjorn travel crib for the baby. She usually sleeps in a hammock sort of bed at home (literally, it hangs and gently swings when she moves). LO sleeps like a dream in it! Well, first night in the travel crib and as I'm middle of the night pumping, she wakes up. She never does this at home. I found her kinda sideways in the crib so clearly she moved. I don't know if that's what woke her? Is there anything I can do to safely keep her in one position so she doesn't wake up like this? Can I make some sort of "nest" or something? Also the mattress is tied down so I tucked a muslin blanket over it so LO isn't sleeping on the plasticy surface directly. So I don't have a sheet that can hold anything down.

And to make matters worse, the rock and play has decided to no longer rock... After all of 5 weeks. This is gonna be a long week!

@LindsayInNY: Our rock and play stopped rocking an we took it back to Buy, Buy, Baby and they replaced it. You could roll some burp cloths or hand towels to put by his sides that might help him stay in place in the travel crib.

@LindsayInNY: We put a rolled up blanket on either side of the baby and that worked well. Probably just keep them on the sides of the hips so if she is moving and turning her head, her face doesn't get pressed into the blanket. You could just do the same with a towel or something if you're in a hotel.

It's safest to not have anything in their with him. I'm sure you can get your rnp replaced, though.

@MamaB: I called fisher price and they're sending a new rocker piece thing. Otherwise BRU was my next choice!

Not that this helps you know, but getting her used to sleeping in a swing/hammock is likely going to make it hard for her to sleep without the motion.

@sapphire: It doesn't really provide much motion. More like swaying a little when she does move? It's not like a rocker or anything. But it may be enough that she notices a difference with the travel crib now?

@LindsayInNY: hmm I haven't seen anything like that before so not sure, but babies sure do love motion and they get conditioned to things pretty easy. How is it going now with the travel bassinet?

I don't want to jinx things but she slept like a rock last night!! She napped like crap yesterday so that probably helped too. But she didn't move around with the towels around her either!
