What do you guys do for Halloween if you have a LO who ToTs?
We just bought our first home, likely to be our forever/raise the kids home, and DH is very excited to hand out candy to the kiddos from our house. Trying to figure out how to do both. I know the easy answer is for him to stay and pass out candy and me take the girls out. But this is my first Halloween not working, so first chance for us to celebrate as a family.
What do you guys do?

T is too little so we hand out candy together. We live in an old historic neighborhood so we get lots of kids and I like to see their costumes.
In the future I expect we will take her out early together for less than an hour then hand out candy here together and drink wine out of coffee mugs as play backgammon as per tradition.

We usually go out early together and leave a bowl on the doorstep and then get home early enough to hand out candy together too.

We hand out candy, my son loves to see the kids coming to our house, but he's lukewarm about actually going to other houses. So we let him run the fog machine, he gives out handfuls of candy, we all have a good time. This year he has decided he wants to wear a costume.

For now we hand out candy. We'll have to figure something out for when our LO is old enough to eat candy.

Do you live near any friends or family that don't get trick or treaters? I know DH's mom and stepfather go to his stepbrother's house and hand out candy for them so they can go trick or treating as a family.

We split.
We live downtown so the houses at close enough together that the kids really only do a block or two and get enough candy. We also have had babies the past two years so whoever stays home also has a sleeping baby and the monitor.

So far we have just handed out candy at home together. There are lots of other Halloween and fall activities in our area, such as trick or treating at the mall a few days before, etc. so LO still got some candy. We may change things up when he's a little older.

We've gone out as a family so far. LO is 3 this year so we go on the early side and not too far. We put candy on the porch but DH or I also run back to greet as many TOTs as possible. Kids mainly come in big groups every 10 min or so and our house is in the middle of the neighborhood (lots of cul de sacs off our street) so we can see them coming.

@catgirl: well my mil and fil are coming over, but they are the type that will want to come with us. I can't imagine them coming over and handing out the candy.
@jhd: good point! I know there are lots of events in our area, so we can definitely still dress up as a family and go out.

Do you want to all go out together, or do you just both want a chance to see the girls trick or treat? We haven't had to deal with this yet but my friends alternate - Dad takes them for a half hour while Mom does candy, then they swap.

We've also gone early but left a bowl out for while we are gone. Then another year my mom stayed at our house to hand out candy. We live in a gated neighborhood of 40 houses so we just do our neighborhood but we get lots of TOTers.

@erinbaderin: I want to go out together- we have a family costume and this will be my first time trick or treating with the girls. DH is meh about Halloween in general, so he's definitely more excited to stay home and pass out candy. So I think ultimately we will go out as a family early, then come home and hand out candy. I'll just drag him to a big trunk or treat they do around here so we can get more mileage out of our costumes

We used to leave a bowl but no one comes to our house b/c we're at a dead end. 
I guess at least I don't have to buy lots of candy.

We are going to take DS out and when we get back hand out candy.
DS is 3.5 and I don't see him going to many houses. Last year he asked to go home after 2 houses then handed out candy. He lived doing that.

My parents come to our house to hand out candy (they live nearby, but don't get many kids in their neighborhood). This way, they get to see their grandkids all dressed up too.
