I'm so confused! It seems like every website that I look on says something different about when you start 2nd and 3rd trimesters.
One says you start the 2nd trimester at 13 weeks pregnant the other says 12 weeks pregnant.
One says you start the 3rd trimester at 26 weeks pregnant and the other says 27 weeks pregnant.
Anyone have the real skinny on this? Why is it so difficult to figure out!?

Ha ditto! Well according to wikipedia, 2nd starts the 14week and the 3rd starts the 27th.

well, i think there's a "gestational" age (which is 40/3) and there's the fetal age (38/3). i considered end of week 13 to be my 1st trimester. lol. whatever makes you feel better!

Like all things pregnancy related, different experts have different opinions. I just stick to one site when it comes to stuff like this so I dont get confused. I use The Bump.

I think I decided for myself that the 2nd trimester starts when I'm 13 weeks pregnant (ie, the beginning of week 14) and ends when I'm 26 weeks pregnant (ie, the beginning of week 27). How's that for official?

@winniebee: I agree, I decided my second started as soon as I had completed 12 weeks, and my third will start next week when I've completed 26 weeks, which is the end of six completed months.
