I just need to vent that the first TWW after a miscarriage sucks rocks.
And if I do manage to get pregnant then the following eight weeks are going to be terrifying. All three of my losses occurred around week seven.

Getting the hcg testing done until about week 6 when we could see a heartbeat really helped us. Are you doing any testing?

I just want to say that I'm really sorry and I know what it feels like. I was never comfortable until after a successful anatomy scan with my two LOs (my losses were 10/12 weeks, and we even saw a heartbeat for one of them). It was really, really hard to keep going...after a certain point, we actually almost decided to just stop at one and done because it was so hard for me to deal with all the stress. Try your best to keep your mind off it if you can. One thing that really helped me with my last pregnancy was to plan other stuff out for the future (short vacations, get-togethers with friends, date nights at restaurants that we'd been wanting to try) so that I could have other things to look forward to that weren't pregnancy/baby related.

Hugs. I'm in my third cycle post a d&c at 11w where we saw a hb at 8w and the stress has been really high. So much emotion. I agree with trying for distractions and just being kind to yourself - make time/space for whatever helps you get through!

The first cycle we tried again post D&C I got pregnant (much to my shock, as it took awhile the first time around) but that ended in an early loss and was really crushing. It really underscored the importance though of self-care and trying to live in the moment and appreciate everything I could about the life I have now. Thinking of you and sending all the good vibes.

Totally feel you ... it does suck!!
When we were in your shoes, it actually took us a few months to get pregnant again. While I wanted it to happen right way, it almost padded my emotions a bit, and once I got my positive test, I felt like I was a bit more removed from the miscarriage.
With that said, I was still paranoid (the entire pregnancy). We opted to do HCG beta testing the week I got my BFP (I needed the reassurance), and then planned a dating scan for 7-8 weeks, so we could verify a heartbeat earlier than later. Both of those things brought peace of mind.

@Eko: @littlejoy: I did that last cycle building up to my mc because I was working with an RE. I think the testing just made me more anxious because it introduced some ups and downs. I had one "bad" HCG and then some promising ones, then no heartbeat and then a strong heartbeat,... and then a miscarriage. The dr appts cut into my workout time so I think I will just skip them since I am not convinced that the monitoring really gives me the information I need.
I know that my last loss was due to Trisomy 6, so it's not due to anything I could have controlled.
@catlady: @bhbee: @periwinklebee: We just got back from a week away as a family where I got to spend lots of time with my son, so that helped me hit the reset button. The timing actually worked out great because I got a positive OPK the day we got home when we were no longer sharing a hotel room with T, so there was an opportunity to BD!!

@ElbieKay: Sorry to hear about your loss! Things will be alright don't worry, am sure you can get to the bottom of what's causing the miscarriage at that particular week and avoid it. Fertility Clinics may help you with it; worked for a friend of mine. She had some complication with gestation for her cervix was getting dilated around 14th-week causing miscarriage. She was under clinical care from week 12 to week 18, to avoid stress on the cervix. The RE may help you with your problem too. Wish you all the luck.

@G@9: thanks for your reply! I have been working with an RE but unfortunately the conclusion is just that I have old eggs. They ran an analysis on the most recent loss and it was due to a genetic issue with the fetus. We can consider IVF to improve our odds but I don't think that is something I want to go through. I know I would be devastated if it fails, and the odds are less than 50% that it will work.

@ElbieKay: Ohh sorry to hear that. Well, if it's some genetic or geriatric (age related) issue I doubt simple clinical assistance will be any good. But then you've had a child already, a successful gestation might be a just a matter of time and patience. Wish you all the luck.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm in the TWW of my 6th cycle of TTC after a loss at 19.5 weeks last November. The first TWW was tough. I was so sure I was going to get pregnant right away and that didn't happen, so now every TWW has been a bit more stressful than the last.
Any new pregnancy will be stressful for me as well and I don't think I'll be able to relax until after the anatomy scan. TTC after a loss is awful.

I just had my 4th unsuccessful tww after a MMC in January. I would have been 37 weeks today and assumed I'd be pregnant by the time the due date rolled around. It's sad and depressing.
All this to say, I feel your pain and I hope you have a positive outcome very soon.
