My husband's cousin straight up told me she doesn't like one of my daughters' names (we also didn't reveal until the birth). 🤷‍♀️ Whatever I still think it's awesome!

We call DD by her middle name, mainly because we love the name but didn't not want it to be her first name. We equally love her first but we hear NON STOP why did we name her the way we did...because we're the parents and we felt like it!!

A couple people (strangers, not friends) have asked if we named him after Glee. Um, no. I forgot that show even existed, lol.

The only weird thing is when people talk about how you never hear G's name nowadays. It's the 9th most popular name in MA and you hear it at every playground, which was my main concern about choosing it. But the people who say it aren't around small children nearly as much as I am so I understand.

For both kids I get a lot of "oh I had an aunt/ grandmother with that name!"

@littlejoy: are you having a boy or girl? I feel like I'm remembering your boy name is similar to my sons name.... but I could be wayyyy off and thinking of someone else!

LO1: for his first + middle name combo we heard that it was a big name for such a little guy.
LO2: we were told that we should have reversed his first and middle names or just call him by his middle name.
LO3: "like the clown?" We also heard some people say they'd never heard of it before while a nurse at the hospital said that it's recently become a very popular name

We get "who is he named after, the country singer?" Although it's where the name came from we didn't name him AFTER him! We just really liked the name!

We didn't tell anyone his name either and it was for the best, we had a lot of family members give us a funny look and others who love it.

Everyone struggles with my sons name. Many mispronounce it (we say it like the Catholic Saint, most people pronounce it like the city). Many assume it's an alternative form of the same name. It is frequently misunderstood as one of two more common names that rhyme with it. His teacher (who is french) told me it was spelled like a girls name, which to be fair in her native language it is. I know my mom hated it when she first heard it (after he was born) though she nevertheless said so to me. It used to bother me but now I mostly don't care.

Nothing too weird or annoying. Most comments have just been that it's an "old-fashioned" name, or people ask if we got the name from Downton Abbey. DD is Cora, and I like that it's a little old-fashioned. I also haven't watched Downton Abbey but I can see why people would ask me that since the show is so popular!

Oh, I guess one person once commented that the color she was wearing matched her name. It took me a minute to figure out that meant coral. Not sure if they thought her name was coral or if they thought the color was called Cora. 🤷‍♀️

We had more than one person including a nurse at the hospital comment on how "its a big name for such a little baby" lol I'm pretty sure she is going to grow up to be an adult so that seems like a really short term concern!

They ask if he has a sister bane April, then giggle. They ask if he was born in August and are relieved when I say no.

We really don't get a lot of negative comments. The only one that annoys me that we get every now and then is "oh, that's my dog's name". I know people don't mean any harm so it doesn't really upset me but I don't love my kid being looped in with your dog
