Do you associate the name Noelle with Christmas? We would like to name our November baby Noelle but afraid people are going to automatically think of the holiday.

I don't think so! I think it's really pretty. I think unless your baby was born on Christmas Day or something and named Noelle.

I'm a big Sublime fan (at least I was in college). The lead singer's last name was Nowell, so when I see "Noelle" (and not Noel), I think of Sublime, not Christmas.
This is my niece's name, and I think it's so lovely.

Love that name! I have a friend's daughter named Noelle; I've never once associated it with Christmas.

The name Noelle (and the name Natalie) literally means "Born on Christmas", so I think it's only natural for people to associate it with the holiday. That being said, I do think it's a very pretty name.

Yes, it makes me think of Christmas. And "The First Noel" starts going though my head. Still a pretty name.

Yes I do associate Noelle with Christmas but I wouldn't side eye a November baby with that name.

I answered yes because I do associate it with Christmas (but I was a Dec 24 baby whose parents almost named me Noelle) BUT I still think it's a gorgeous name and I would absolutely use it for a November baby! I would also use April, May, or June in any month

My daughter's name is Noelle with a January birthday. I've only been asked maybe 2-3 times in her whole 6.5 years of life whether it was because she was born on Christmas. Most people don't even think twice about it, and my daughter loves that there is a song with her name in it.
I would never assume a girl named April was born in April, or a girl named Autumn born in fall. And if I did, I think I'd quickly associate the name with the little girl rather than the month/season. I have a friend who named her daughter Aaliyah (with a diff spelling). In the beginning, I did briefly think of the singer, but it quickly became a name I associated more with that little girl than anything else.
Anyway, all that to say, I obviously love the name Noelle, and I wouldn't think twice about using that name for a non-Christmas baby. Use it if you love it!

We briefly considered Noelle for our little girl.coming in November but ruled it out because it basically rhymes with our last name. I love the name, though, and wouldn't tie it directly to a holiday baby (unless I knew that baby was born close to Christmas, then I might ask about the holiday). My best friend in high school had Noel as her middle name, but she was born 4 days after Christmas and her parents did that on purpose.

Yes and no. I wouldn't use the name myself because we're Jewish (also wouldn't use a name like Christopher or Kristine for similar reasons) BUT I wouldn't bat an eye at someone else using it, no matter when the baby was born. It's really pretty! I know an adult noelle who does have a late December bday but I didn't know that until I just looked it up on fb!

My daughters middle name is Noelle. She was born no where near Christmas but we love Christmas so the association was good. I think its beautiful for a November baby.

Personally, I can attest to the fact that having really popular songs with your name in them is incredibly annoying when you're in elementary school. I mean, kids can find other ways to tease, but I found it annoying

I love it. I know the meaning, but I don't automatically think of it. It's so pretty!

So I associate it so strongly with Christmas that I was shocked to see the poll go the other way! Personally, I would give a little bit of side eye about naming a November baby Noelle, but don't let my opinion stop you!

I know someone named Noel, and I have never once wondered if she was born on or close to Christmas...I actually don't know when her birthday is.

Thanks, everyone! This was really helpful to show my husband who can't get Christmas off the brain with this name, haha.
