My 3 yr old asked me last night what I was scared of.
I told her spiders!
What are you scared of?

I really hate dinosaurs. If someone actually made a real Jurassic Park I would move to a different continent.

@mrs. wagon: Being startled, that's mine too! I hate hate hate being startled/suddenly surprised by things. We went to a haunted hay ride/haunted house event a couple weeks ago and I kept saying to DH "I'm not scared, I just hate being startled!" Like, clowns in general do not scare me. But a clown jumping out at me freaks me right out.
Similarly, sudden loud noises and such make me jump!

Is it weird that I can't really think of anything? I don't think I'm truly scared of much.

Uh driving on bridges. Bridges where you can see the water through them.
Something happening to M who travels a ton for work. And is into road biking. I can only really rest easy when he is home it seems.

Snakes. Totally and completely scared of them - I will have nightmares where I wake up in the fetal position. It's weird because I grew up in the country - but I think I kept getting surprised by them when playing as a kid, or weeding as an adult. Ugh, I hope I don't have nightmares tonight.

Going to sleep when I'm the only one home, or sleeping on a different floor/level than everyone else. I'd rather sleep on the couch or floor than be separated from everyone. And when I'm alone and DH is away on business, my mom calls me and we keep both the phones on speaker so I can sleep.

Spiders, heights, lightning (I have an irrational certainty that I will be struck by lightning someday).

I am scared of getting kidnapped! Or is it abducted since I am an adult!? If I ever have to go out late at night in the dark I am on high alert for any kind of suspicious persons near me!

1. I hate birds in enclosed spaces (bird in store, bird flying into an open topped restaurant)
2. I have an irrational fear of someone breaking into my house and harming us, I wake at every noise.

Confined spaces... Tbh even pulling a tight necked top over my head freaks me out!

I wouldn't say that I am scared necessarily, but bats always make my skin crawl.

@mrs. wagon: @IRunForFun: ppl joke they need to wear cat bells around me because I have a heightened startle reflex and jump a mile. I hate it!
@Shutterbug: omg, yes! I have a fear that my ankles will get eaten in an escalator!
I'm afraid of cutting the skin between my thumb and my hand, the web part. I'm afraid of starting a car and having an animal trapped in the engine. I'm very afraid of needles. And mice, very afraid of mice.

Lots of different insects, bats, snakes, wolves, heights, roller coasters, surgery, and driving by bodies of water when there isn't a good barrier between the road and the water.

Also bridges and driving over them. Especially ones near airports with low flying planes overhead. (my parents and siblings flew to Florida the day Air Florida 90 crashed in 1982. thankfully, they were on the flight before.)

@youboots: Oh god, those grated bridges get me every time. So scary.
Also heights. Eeek.

Spiders, raccoons, any sort of dolls (especially porcelain dolls and those ventriloquist dolls. Ugh!)

I'm really scared that my DH will die before I do. Possibly when we still have young children. But even if we're old and gray, I hate the thought of him dying first.
