35 weeks pregnant and I've purchased nothing in terms of clothes for nursing so far. My boobs haven't grown, still am A cup and no idea how big they'll grow. What kind of bras should I buy now so I have a couple before she gets here?
I would like to minimize how much nursing specific clothes I have to buy, maybe focusing more on tanks and pajamas - any recommendations?

Definitely a few nursing tanks; the clip down ones are my favorite. You can pretty much layer regular clothes over the top. What kind of climate do you live in? You might want one nursing top to go out in like a t shirt. Definitely one nursing bra until your boob size settles.

This isn't the prettiest thing but it's super comfortable for at home and the band is adjustable. The cup is soft so if your boobs grew bigger it'll still work. I have small boobs too and support at night isn't a concern.

For the first few weeks, even though I had a nursing bra and a couple of tanks, I basically lived in loose tanks or v-neck shirts. Anything that wasn't rubbing against my boobs and had easy access for nursing 1788542 x/day!

I nursed my first past a year without many pieces to be honest. I did buy some good "regular" looking nursing bras, some comfy sports bra type ones for around the house and for sleeping (I leaked for quite a long time and needed to wear nursing pads at night for much longer than I had hoped), and a couple of tank tops but that's it.
Once we passed the newborn stage of figure nursing out, I wore mostly my normal clothes entirely when outside the house. I would wear a clip down nursing bra, a regular non nursing tank top and then whatever top I wanted as long as it wasn't too awkward/tight to pull up. To nurse I would pull up the outer layer, pull down the tank a bit and then unclip the bra. This leaves only the breast itself exposed and once baby is latched, you see no skin at all which made me most comfortable. No back, side, belly or upper chest hanging out. I didn't like the way the clips or specialized nursing tops make it super obvious that I was a nursing mom and a lot of the pieces are very boxy and awkward fitting.
I wore nursing tanks around the house, or just an oversized tshirt with no bra for comfort haha.
Almost all of my nursing stuff was gilligan and o'malley from target and I have picked up a few additional pieces for this baby but I'm not going beyond that. I found it super easy to make my own wardrobe work for me.

@getjazzy: I agree that I didn't need specialized pieces. I mostly wore my clothes with a nursing tank or bra under.

I also agree with a soft bra to start, or even a cheap sports bra, the kind that isn't really supportive? I wore that at home. Also nursing tanks. In my opinion you don't need nursing pajamas, when i nurse at night I just lift my shirt up.

I live in target nursing tanks! Especially at the beginning until you figure out the leaking and get a better handle on feeding!

A agree with everyone else- start with a few inexpensive not too tight nursing tanks and soft nursing bras. Then figure out what else you need. I found many "nursing tops" we're also maternity, and someone looking even more pregnant than I did a month after having a baby wasn't high on my list of things to do.
In the beginning I just wore nursing tank tops day and night. I was nursing so often I didn't even want to deal with a shirt and a nursing bra. I still sleep in my target nursing tanks and my LO turns two this month and has been weaned for three months.
For more support when you go out later on the bravado ones are much more flattering.

Once I was back at work, I did a lot of regular cami under my shirts for nursing in public. I would wear my nursing bra, the cami and then a regular shirt. I would pull the regular shirt up (so it didn't stretch out), pull the cami down for full coverage. And didn't really need to

Nursing tanks and bras, and I like the $9 Target boyfriend V neck shirts. I got them in an XXL and I can just pull the neckline down. And they're really cheap, so it's ok if they get stretched out. I can't do just a tank since I'm an F and I like some support

Everyone always recommends nursing tanks so I bought a bunch and never wore them. I really disliked them for some reason. I preferred nursing bras (Bravado silk seamless are my favorite) with regular tanks that are super stretchy (I found a bunch at Old Navy). My biggest advice is not to buy too much of one thing at once since you can't really know what you will like until you are in the thick of it. I'd get a couple different styles to test out and then stock up on the ones you like best after your baby is here.

Nursing bras(Bravado) and my go to nursing tank is the Undercover that attaches to m bra. I have large breasts and can not wear any tank that has a build in bra, I love how this attaches to my bra. I have 5 of them!
Otherwise, I dont' wear any other "nursing" specific clothes, just throw whatever shirt on top of my Undercover tank and go, I can pull that shirt up and unhook the bra and we are good to go.

@catlady: I never really liked nursing tanks either, but then I needed more support and had a to wear a nursing bra with them.
I'd still get one or 2 inexpensive ones and see if you like them, plus a soft nursing bra and a bunch of inexpensive tanks/tees you can pull down. I had DS in November, so my typical outfit was some sort of tank with a nursing bra and either a cardigan or zip hoodie.
