What kitchen items would you not want to live without?

    I can't live without my digital meat thermometers. They connect to my phone over Bluetooth and let me know when things are done. So many times before I got them I used to ruin food by over cooking it. Or throw it away because it seemed perpetually under done.

    As a side note we just got a griddle yesterday and used it for the first time to grill some steaks today. DH liked it a lot and I'm happy to see so many people consider it a must have item.

    @SweetiePie: I didn't know I could put my griddler plates in the dishwasher until right now.

    I love my Dutch oven (Lodge brand which is no Le Creuset but it's held up really well and cleans so easily), rice cooker, and crockpot. I've been using the crockpot a ton lately to prep postpartum freezer meals and it's been so easy!!

    @Jackiedavis87: I got a waffle maker as a wedding present and then for some reason it stayed in a box in the basement for 7 years. I finally pulled it out on a whim and now I make waffles at least twice a month. So much wasted waffle-less time!

    @ShootingStar: ditto the Bluetooth meat thermometer! It's essential to my Thanksgiving turkey, which my family expects every year.

    Man, now I want a griddler. Waffles and panini? Sold.

    I have many, many kitchen gadgets and I love them allllll... I don't think I could choose my favourite because they all have a purpose in our kitchen.

    @SweetiePie: That's awesome. I love the Griddler, it's the best appliance. I don't really use the flat plates that much, the waffle ones are permanently on ours...and I also didn't know I could put them in the dishwasher....holla!!!!

    @looch: 🙌
    The fact that both you and @irunforfun didn't know that made me nervous that I was doing something I shouldn't! But I just googled and we're all safe! Cuisinart says it on the product description. Phew.

    I thought of another - pizza cutter. Oddly enough, I've never made a pizza (we even have a pizza stone from our wedding, never used). But it's essential for toddler meal prep. I do use it to cut restaurant pizza into small squares, run it over spaghetti to get small bites that can be scooped in a sooon, and many more things. Chopping herbs - just lay them on the cutting board and run the pizza cutter over them like crazy.

    And it sounds silly, but I love our oxo grape cutter. It is such a time saver for a mom who cuts a lot of damn grapes.

    @SweetiePie: Haha, we bought our griddler purely for the dishwasher capabilities. I was thinking about this thread last night when I popped them off and stuck them in there .

    I could not live without my rice cooker. It doubles as a slow cooker and steamer, but I mostly use it with the delay timer to have the rice ready when I get home, or to make quick rice when I forget haha!

    Also, my silicone spatulas and dishwasher (#1 requirement in my apartment hunting).

    @SweetiePie: That is a genius use for a pizza cutter!
