What would you get for a 2 year old girl who doesn't really need anything?!? DD turns 2 right before Christmas and family is starting to ask for gift ideas for her and I am drawing a blank! We have an older son so we already have a kitchen and some older toys like that. I am drawing a blank on what to tell them and I really don't want to just accumulate a bunch of stuff.... Any ideas I am not thinking of???
(Her grandma is already getting her a bunch of girly dress up clothes)

@creativemomma15: my 2 year old is loving art supplies of all kinds (stamp kits, finger paints, crayons, markers, scissors, etc), playdough (she leaves it out all the time and it dries, so we are always needing more), her little baby dolls, 24 piece puzzles, simple games (we have Seek-a-boo), and her Thomas the Train set. And building sets.

Is she into animals at all? My daughter is obssesed with her learning resources jumbo safari animals. Zoo animals are on Amazon DOTD!

We have the same dilemma! DD turns 2 in about 2 weeks and I have very few ideas. I got her some Mini Melissa cat shoes because she loves cats and shoes, and suggested that Grandpa buy dress up clothes, but other than that, I'm drawing a blank. She loves playing with DS's toys and we already have so much!

@regberadaisy: We have a small tea set with a musical tea pot... A food grade Green Toys one would probably be nicer to have. Hmmm... But she LOVES animals! I'll have to look at those!
@Anagram: Art supplies! Great idea... Thanks! And she is really liking our train table now so maybe there are some fun pieces we could add to that.

@lamariniere: It is so hard! And we are expecting baby #3 and I am just thinking, this is going to be worse next year! I don't want to have our house overtaken by stuff... and they don't need a ridiculous amount of toys either.

I agree with @Anagram: @Smurfette: you can't have too man supplies, craft supplies and stickers. What about books? Magnetic "paper" dolls? What about a trunk to put the dress-up clothes grandma is buying into?

We're in the same boat. Right now, the only thing I have gotten for her is a skiphop backpack.
Her 2 year bday was in October and her favorite gifts from then were a Look and Find book, Water Wow book, and a fake makeup kit (ridiculous, but she kept grabbing mine so I got her her own).

LO just turned 2 this month and this is what I put on her birthday/Christmas list:
books (we can never have too many books!)
clothes
doll and accessories
art easel and supplies
table & chairs
mini trampoline
dress-up/pretend play items
hooded toddler towel/robe
small backpack or rolling suitcase (we have 2 trips planned for 2016 and I thought she might like her own bag to take on the plane.)
Now the problem is to figure out what DH and I/Santa are going to get her for Christmas.

Stickers and bath toys come to mind. My daughter loves bath crayons or those color drops you can put in to change the color of the bath.
We also suggested a subscription to Citrus Lane for Christmas to a relative we knew wanted to spend a little more. I like the idea of little things arriving every month instead of a dump of presents all at one time.

@creativemomma15: do you have outside space / a yard? My girl loves her wheelbarrow, watering can and gardening tools, she also loves growing plants like sunflowers in pots. Or what about a pop up play tent and foldaway tunnel?

A doctors kit and doll stroller were the two most popular gifts last year for my new 2 year old. Art supplies, outdoor toys (bubbles/chalk if you don't want stuff) and books are my go to extras.

Doll stroller, princess dress up clothes / accessories, anything Disney princess related (last year she got millions of both the toddler sized princess dolls and regular Barbie-like ones), art easel, train tracks, vanity table (she loved her frozen vanity so much), Magiclip dolls, books, dollhouse/castle (she has 5 or 6 large castle sets that are probably her most played with toys)

Things that don't take up much room:
- Babybug magazine subscription
- Personalized book (like Lost My Name)
- Wall map
- Spray water bottle (this is hours of entertainment for my LO)
- Bedding
- Wall art
- Shoes/other things you need to buy anyway - just wrap them up and call it a present!

We have a couple of semi-structured board games that my son has loved since around 2. I don't normally think about games at this age, but my parents got them and he loves them. The best thing is that he'll be able to use them for awhile as his ability to use them develops.

Doctor's kit is super popular in our house. A doll house and a rolling backpack are on her list.
I am also just telling people when they ask the characters she likes. I'm not getting her anything character-y and I know no matter what it is, if it has Sofia or Doc or Daniel Tiger on it she will love it and that will make the giver really happy.
