What's the most famous landmark near you or what your town/city is known for?

@MrsRoo: @Mrs.Panda: OF COURSE Disney World counts!!!! haha

Hmm....I don't know if we have any real landmarks that people not from the area would be aware of in the major city we're a suburb of. It's known for awesome things like violence/gunfire/gangs and being destroyed by the failing auto industry! Yeah...

Not a landmark so much as an event....The Sundance Film Festival.

If we're talking landmarks, while this one is not the closest it is certainly my favorite--Delicate Arch!

man, it's a toss up. The Newport Mansions are pretty huge. we have a lot of old, old, old houses and buildings around here. There's a house down the street from me, the Eleazar Arnold house, that was built in 1693. "Eleazer Arnold, a major landowner, built his house along Great Road, one of the earliest roads in the colonies. Two stories high, with a pilastered chimney, the home so dominated the modest dwellings of nearby farmers that it earned the title “Eleazer’s Splendid Mansion.” "

First Baptist Meetinghouse - Oldest congregation in the United States, founded by Roger Williams in 1638. Current building dates to 1775.
