Do you have a manual pump? What brand/style? Do you like it and would you recommend it?

I use the one made by Medela. I think it's fine...it was about 40 bucks if I remember correctly. I have gotten a ton of use out of it, and now that I'm back to pumping at work with an electric, I keep it in my diaper back in case of an emergency. I was pumping at work with just the manual for a while because I was going to quit pumping and then decided to get back to it. You can use medela bottles or Dr. Brown's bottles with it.

I have the Medela and it is ok. I heard the Lansinoh pump might have better suction but I haven't tried it yet.

@yellowbird - can you use any bottle attachment with the Lansinoh? I have a PISA now and have all the medela gear, would be great if I didn't have to buy anything else extra.

I heard great things about the Lansinoh so I bought it, but I hate it! Crappy suction, hardly gets anything out.

I have the Medela one and I think it hurts.. I just use my electric and when I'm in a bind I'll hand express.

@CarrieLouWho: my medela bottles fit on it as do dr browns!

I have the Lansinoh one and really liked it. I only used it the first few weeks though, then switched to a double electric because I was pumping more than I thought I was going to be.

I have the medela, which works fine for my very occasional pumping needs. I did have to buy flanges that fit after the first couple of trys hurt like crazy.

My awesome insurance policy only covers/pays for a manual pump under the new Affordable Care Act. Subscribing to see what the responses are so I know what to purchase. Looks like it's 50/50 between the Medela and Lansinoh. Yikes!

The medela one does kinda hurt. I don't know why? It does work pretty quickly, though.

I bought the evenflo one and it worked fine at first and then the pumping mechanism just kind of crapped out after a few months of occasional use. I just purchased the lasinoh one and like it much better. The suction is better, it's not too expensive, and the pump mechanism doesn't seem like it will fail.
@travelingbrit: have you tried it without the insert in the flange? i don't get good suction with it in, but just using the hard plastic flange, I get more milk.
