Baby C is one month old and I'm looking forward to a glass of wine! When did you enjoy your first alcoholic beverage post-baby?

I had a sip or two of champagne the night we came home from the hospital. Does that count? Lol.

2 weeks because it was Christmas! Sometimes you just need a little help to get through the holidays with a newborn and big families.

@yoursilverlining: I had planned on this, but we totally forgot.

The night we came home from the hospital. We had a bottle of really nice champagne saved for the occasion. However, by that time, I was so tired that I didn't fully enjoy it.

@mrs. tictactoe: My mom and I used to smuggle margaritas and champagne to my grandmother when she was in the nursing home, so we're used to smuggling in booze we're so bad!!

In Massachusetts it's illegal to have alcoholic beverages in the hospital.
I think it was around 6 weeks, I went to a fundraiser and had a glass of wine.

The night we got home from the hospital I had a small glass of wine. My dad poured it for me so I drank some. I wasn't in search of booze at the moment.

My MIL poured me a glass of wine the afternoon I got home from the hospital. It wasn't a big deal for me through because I'd had small amounts throughout pregnancy.
Oh yeah, I had a milk stout the next day too- it was St. Patty's day and I wasn't about to miss out!

In the hospital, the day after! They treated us to a dinner "date". So right after I nursed LO the nurse brought in wine and steak.

I'm 8 months PP and breastfeeding and I still haven't. I've almost forgotten about alcohol since I've went without it so long lol. But I'll probably just wait until I'm done BFing.

What's the rule with breastfeeding? How long do you have to wait before it is out of your system?

About a month. We went out for DH'S birthday & I had a drink

Ha! DH smuggled in red stripe for me. I'd been craving a ice cold red stripe for months! It was SO good. But I only allowed myself half a bottle.
Then it was probably a month before I had another half a bottle.
@MrsHansen82: rule of thumb is 2 hrs. It's most concentrated in breast milk 30-60 minutes later, I think. But it alll depends on your body weight. Kellymom said if you feel well enough to drive then you're good to BF.

The day I got home from the hospital! I've also been known to have a glass or two if I really need her to sleep, as well. Eh

Pretty much as soon as I got home from the hospital. Yep. It was lovely having a guilt-free glass of wine!

I still haven't at 12 months PP. I'm going to a bridal shower next weekend, I will probably have a glass of champagne there.

I had a beer the night we got home from the hospital. And many, many nights thereafter, lol. I took kellymom's take as gospel truth.

If it works out for us, I would definitely love to have champagne - or really nice beer we've been saving - to celebrate while I'm still in the birthing center. Possibly with fresh sushi from the awesome sushi truck next door.

@yoursilverlining: I agree! My mum brought champagne into our delivery room and I definitely had a glass!

@yoursilverlining: me too! Friends brought a bottle to the hospital the day DS was born and I had a few sips.
With DD, I don't think I drank until we got home (4 days) but they offered a free bottle of sparkling wine at the hospital, which we forgot to pick up.

A few days after we got home I had a beer. I love my booze but it wasn't enjoyable at first Bc I was soooo tired.
